OK, well it's obviously doing something different so let's explore and see if we can get deeper into it.🤞 Normally with Ace games you open the door and then operate switch B8 (doesn't matter whether it's on or off as it's just the operation of it that puts it in test mode) you then get a sort of short bell sound. The Cancel button adds 1 to the test number but in your case it does nothing so we can assume that the rest of the test sequences aren't available with this software. (Assuming the CANCEL button is working) I'm looking at some other manufacturers who used Ace boards (PCP) and they used A8 but you didn't get the bell sound. You then pressed CANCEL then START then the display would show 1t, 2t, 3t etc every time you hit START and CANCEL. The other switch setting to check is B2, if it's on at boot up do you get a 78% showing on the display? Nothing else will run until the switch is restored and rebooted. I can't remember now if you tested that all the buttons were changing the state of the input chips IC31-34 going to IC37? It would be good to elminate that if you haven't already. It's an interesting machine thats for sure.

Hello. Here are the poor results of the tests. - When B8 is "on" and the door is open, there is an audible alarm and there is a flashing message "clear" which disappears when B8 is off. All the buttons are inactive. - When the door is open, all the switches "off" if I press the button "stop 1" , it counts from 0 to 6 if I press the button "stop 2" it tests the music if I press the button "stop 3" it counts from 0 to 6 The other buttons do nothing. - It's the same when all the switches are on (except B8 that must remain on)

Hello. Thank you Bob, I will try to do so. The 16 switches are off but I have no documentation about them. I will try B8 "on" and door open. 👍

Do you know if there is a 'test' mode with that software? With the usual ACE games it's normally back door open and switch B8. Once in test mode you will be able to confirm all the switches are working, in fact all the i/p's and o/p's. If that software doesn't have a test mode you could always use one of the ACE games as there's documentation available which would help.

That's what becoming an old bloke does for you I must think a bit more before I write.

Hello everyone. I'm still walking in the fog, I can'understand why these three buttons don't work. "Start" and "gamble" are not important but "take a lot" is very important and the previous owner's son confirmed to me that it was worked when the machine was in the bar. 😵 When I play, if I get more than 50 points (you win a watch if you get 50 points), at the end of the game, the button "take a lot" lights on, a bell rings and never stops ringing because I can't get my gift. If I insert another coin into the coin mech, a new game stars but the points remain in memory, so, at the end of the game, the bell rings again and again. I tested the buttons and the coils, replaced IC4, tested TR32 to TR38, TR1 to TR7 (the coils are powered by P2-9, P2-10, P2-13, P2-14, P2-17, p2-18 and P2-21) and they all work. If you ever have an idea, I would be very happy to read it. Thanks a lot 👍

Great capture .I assume you ve got the £150 rom set in the machine ?

I have a impact service manual. It does indeed relate to the hopper.
-
The GALs have their own internal fuses which most manufacturers burn at the end of programming to stop people copying the chip. I couldn't tell you if they were in your particular tech, you could be lucky though? In earlier JPM CPU cards (SYS80) the 14k version had a PAL which wasn't protected but even earlier (MPS1) was, work that one out!

I'd say it is.

So we talking impact? I believe the gals can be copied if we are talking impact 1. If this relates to crystal security chips then no. Work was done on mpu4 games to disable the check sum security check, and thus make the roms themselfs copy able. It's a long process of trial and error changing one character at a time until it booted in the emulator. Unfortunately you can just decompile software to see the source code. You can use AI to get a virtual ideas of what the code my look like but, it's not helpful unless you had the original source code. That's just my vague understanding of the issue, I could be wrong.

Thanks for the information, how do I know if the fuse has blown?
