Ploggy - I've got a sneaking suspicion that the photo you found/posted is a much older tech than the MPU3 version in the list (check out the buttons and awards for different win combinations - not very high!) The reason I'm sure is because I played a Barcrest Cash 'n' Carry in Bodmin, Cornwall in mid-late 90's (at the back of a pet shop up the road from Toymaster in the high-street of all places!) and it was a special half-height machine which was distinctive but had all the same buttons, sounds and similar features to Line-Up (right next to it in the list) but without the game board and exchange facility. I think it had the 9 symbol matrix with a grape in the centre - each line lit = 2 nudges, you know the one! It also had the classic "Jackpot Tune" of Barcrest's of that era (exactly like Tuppenny Topper...) Wish I could find either of those machines - absolutely love anything with that Jackpot Tune. There was another one which was 2p / £1.50 jackpot that had the same fruit matrix for nudges and a moving target at the top with 5 shots for maximum 50p award (bullseye was 10p). I know this was probably a clone etc like Tuppenny Topper, but both were definately MPU3. Don't know if that jogs anyone's memories... TT ...and here it is!! Fantastic - thank you HTS for such a clean and easy to play classic layout. Thanks also to Rich not only for the roms, but also uploading pics and vids - awesome!! I've been waiting *years* (see above) to catch up with this little gem of a machine. Thanks as always to Wizard for the emu and for the scene for continuing to support one of my passions TT2 points

I think the Scorpion 2 manual is on here, but as you have donated - PM if you can't find it and I will send you a copy Re not charging the battery, will be a diode on the charging circuit - above the 7805 voltage regulator (with big black heat sink) Re the audio, Spa correct, plug to the left of the power plug at the bottom, put the machine on, go into the test routine with the back door open, press the green button on the board once Step through the menus till you get to sound test (called something like that) go into there, then wiggle that plug, should prove it's the plug / connection / cable Paul2 points

Posted Today, 06:44 pm Another new DX layout done, which is called Bar Sevens. This is the original lo-tech version which was released on the system 85 tech. Don't think there has been another system 85 machine released on MFME, so this might be the first. Machine is set to: £4/10p/92% Use MFME6.1 to play. Credits for this layout go to: A.T: For Pictures. Wizard: For Adding System 85 Emulation To MFME. Shortcuts for this are: Auto Play - A Nudge/Hold 1 - 1 Nudge/Hold 2 - 2 Nudge/Hold 3 - 3 Cancel - ` or C Start - Space £1 Insert - 0 20p Token - 9 Enjoy! Bar Sevens DX.zip1 point

So I decided to have a go at a pc92 board bought in a pile of boards some time ago off ebay, this one did not look too bad! but of course bad enough for it not to work! upon testing it would not produce a reset pulse correctly, and I always remove the 53v power to the board as the via's (through board connections) in red on the backside of the board would most certainly burn up and wreck the board! why they decided it was a good idea to route the 53v under the battery close to the 0v line is a mystery to me! not very good practice in my opinion! so next I take all the reset circuit components off the board and solder the holes up of the parts I won''t be putting back, then I know I don't have to bother fixing the tracks around those bits!! just clean them up! quite a few bits to not have to replace! this board has this rom on it! any ideas what game it is for?1 point

I've been after one of these for years. It's a total shit machine trust me. It's way more modern than anything I have. But in 2005 after the fall of MG-Rover. Me and my girlfriend went to work on a holiday park in Brean Down Somerset. Unity Farm as wardens. In an arcade called Stardust they had this machine and a few others I used to play. I'm looking for Monkey Business by Global Games too. Anyway I secured this only 4 days ago. And it was picked up Thursday from Devon and dropped off to me on the Friday. The M1 is completely goosed with Battery. But I have sorted a few board's for this. It will be my only sampled sound machine. I couldn't keep away from this machine even though it was a pile of shite. Same as Monkey Business. This was a former Coronation street 😂😁1 point

Many thanks for this. I remember playing this machine in the late 80's, but could never remember what it was called. Another mystery solved. :-)1 point

On my scorp2 amongst other things the battery Clear jumper was not making contact. Also no sound because the digital pot was dead (replaced it with a discrete pot and was ok). Then again there was a hole in the board made by battery leak... Not in good shape to start with.1 point

Plenty of threads on here about properly cleaning up and repairing battery damage, if you care to search for them. Doing half a job just won't cut it with that kind of fault.1 point

I was the same. Couldn't afford the 10p play machines back in 1984. Played the 2/5p machines a lot more than the 10p games. Glad the layout is being enjoyed.1 point
