  5. this is the tester I built to test the AY chips for the M1 as no commercial tester exists to test them fully on all output ports and sound ports Yay!! FINALLY the code is all sorted in the PIC chip and it now drives all 16 outputs with visual LED's and each tone you hear is from the 3 sound channels being enabled one at a time! low frequency channel A high channel C and middle note channel B

  6. how bad is the processor card you have just now and what symptoms do you have in your machine? See reason I ask is Im finding that a lot of these CPU cards I come across have some very simple faults holding them down.

  8. and there we have it!! rom A address 56EE is corrupt on the rom device I have here! rom B address 23BB is corrupt on the rom device I have here! knew they was bad!!

  9. lol cant quite insert pics mid explanation and continue writing DOH! anyhow all the old pins simply lifted out of the housing ..i then snipped those off and re-tinned the wires and soldered on the new "crimps" and then crimped the wings down around the pin-- good solid connections now I ordered 2 x 10way housings and used a razor blade to remove one housing pin to make it a snug 19pin connector Boom! powered up Donkey Kong and like magic no more ghosting lamps and odd boot ups Happy as larry again 😄 Thanks for the great advice chaps Cheers Stef
