  3. Hi guys.Been chatting with shades graphics, and to print a glass is just too expensive. So i came up with an idea.I suggested printing it on a thin clear sheet like a pinball translite. Now for this a photo is not good enough at any resolution and my glass has too much damage to re-create.So im asking a massive favor that if anyone already has a scan or can scan a good glass so they can print from it.This will still be expensive but within reach to save the machine. The idea then is to use 3mm glass on front and 3mm perspex on back and trap the artwork between the 2.The lamp mask will then stick to the perspex and job done.If anyone can help with this and it works i will reward the person for their efforts. Many thanks all,i think this is my last shot at saving this rare machine. This is the its a knockout

  6. you dont need to have it printed on translate .. asfar as i am aware the snappy artwork used on a frankenfruit was just on a good quality vinyl . it was sandwiched between a 2mm and 3mm bit of glass and the light shines through where it needs to without issue on a side note ( i know of a showman with a shed or 2 full of maygay machines , ive been waiting a few years for him to get back to me, so soon as i hear from him i can find out if he has a knockout) cant give you a timeframe just letting you know

  7. on a better note, I bought some if these for the volume control replacement some time ago, but now I am doing MPU4 boards thought I would see if these fit on a couple of boards I have that needed them, so far so good!!

  8. I'm going to say it's a tracking issue, probably board contamination with the 50v leaking round to the base of the transistors. Only guessing though. As you say once the 68B21 gets reset it clamps the voltages down on the o/p ports. It'll be a good one whatever.

  9. So after fitting the 33 ohm in the other board and testing tonight on the bench with the test software, board no 1 and 2 both appear fine, triacs and switch strobes all working good now meter outputs all good, lamp matrix etc all seem fine, so next move is to test in a machine, so that is 2 good boards now, and a fix for board no 3 triac firing is well on its way now!

  10. well that's fine but the switch inputs go to one port of IC8 6821 PIA chip set as inputs, and the triac drives come out the second port of IC8 6821 PIA chip set as outputs, but they are only set once the reset is done and code runs to set them up, the triacs firing happens before the reset happens, once the reset happens the triac firing stops, that's why you get them firing at board powerup before the reset! that is the problem, this is not my first board I have had with this problem, back in 2012 when I did them I had this exact same thing, but how can it be it seems to be just me that has experienced this! (and it also seems now midibob has too), perhaps others just use them for spares! just wondered what others that fix boards do when they see this problem
