  1. I've just picked up a mpu4 line up. Its 5p on £4 or £2. But does anyone know the dip to change it. It's currently on £4 Jackpot. But I feel it will be better on £2 being 5p a go. I was expecting a simple switch in the back but not seen one 😊

  2. Posted Today, 06:44 pm Another new DX layout done, which is called Bar Sevens. This is the original lo-tech version which was released on the system 85 tech. Don't think there has been another system 85 machine released on MFME, so this might be the first. Machine is set to: £4/10p/92% Use MFME6.1 to play. Credits for this layout go to: A.T: For Pictures. Wizard: For Adding System 85 Emulation To MFME. Shortcuts for this are: Auto Play - A Nudge/Hold 1 - 1 Nudge/Hold 2 - 2 Nudge/Hold 3 - 3 Cancel - ` or C Start - Space £1 Insert - 0 20p Token - 9 Enjoy! Bar Sevens DX.zip

  3. You can short the credit lines to ground. Just a quick tap. Bottom left plug first few pins on the left. This will rule out a bad coin mec. You can see if signal is passing the buffer and hitting the PIO... Not sure if the refill key will change behaviour.

  6. A probe is essential. It tells you the hi or lo logic state of a pin on an IC by showing it on a red or green led, and tells you if a line is pulsing or static. See one of the biggest issues you get with maygays is the amount of things that are directly connected to the databus. Theres quite a few buffer and latch ICs on the board, and if they fail they tend to jam one or all the lines on the CPUs data bus HI or LO and stop the board from working. And its hard to find if you dont know what to look for. What I tend to do when I first get a board is power it up with no program card in it and check pins 11-13 and 15-19 on the RAM for activity. You shouldn't get any indication off the probe at all in this case because in a reset state the data bus should be in whats called a "high impedance state" - it should just appear to be dead. I have just done a board there where all the data lines were HI in reset - cause was the 74ls374 at U17 feeding back 4v on all the data lines.. And thats only meant to be an output chip for the reels!
