Hi Guys After setting up a working alpha version of this classic 1981 MPU2 game, making reels and testing. Yesterday I started putting together a DX. Hopefully this should be ready for testing by the end of the week. A quick thanks to Lauton for his symbol scans and Pete W for his great pics:)1 point

Sorry I can't help with reel printing, I couldn't even tell you where we got them done whilst I was at PCP! Although at the time IIRC Electrocoin owned outright the glass printers so prob the reel printers too...1 point

Ah but I meant get them pre cut for you by the 'printers' - you could submit a file based on a manipulated and reversed picture of the reels? Don't want to teach you how to suck eggs but the vinyl boys simply take a 2 colour file off you, you choose the colour vinyl, any thing 'white' in your image is cut out completely. That said you seem to have done pretty well by hand1 point

Apart from the paper bands being a bit thick and not letting loads of light through (would work better with 2.2w bulbs) hit money test reel after spraying is a success :) IMG_2495.MOV1 point

Third video is on Blue Moon. She seems to be a lot tighter than Cloud 999. Still love her to bits though. Still has 0.3 roms unfortunately as all the ones Mick sent me to try wouldn't work with my CHR chip. I can live with it for now though1 point

While I’m sat here with a few hours and some spare paper bands for hit money and blue streak I’ve decided to cut the symbols out, stick them to the back of a hit money band and spray it.... see if that makes a good mask? Otherwise will be a separate print of a mask maybe on transparent?1 point

I have found out that you can have a very high quality result for a low price for non-backlighted reels: Here below my reelbands I created in photoshop for a fruity I build and didn't had the original reels, only a reelplan and similar symbols from other reelbands to scan. Originally this is backlighted but I couldn't find a copier who could print this in a silk screen print method. (I assume that the method for reelbands is silk screen printing, or is it another technique?) I had them printed at a professional printcopier organisation on a high-quality photopaper (with high gloss) in adequate resolution (300 dpi). I payed about € 35,- including cutting the reelbands for 2 copies. (so 12 reelbands in total, 6 fronts, and 6 seperate reelbands with the black masking). Sitting next to other fruity's it is almost not noticable that these reels are printed compared to originals. If I turn them on you can see that the backlighting is not so nice as an original reelband. But if you don't have backlighting in your reels, and want to save some money than this is a real good alternative. But for now I am actually only interested to have reelbands printed for backlighted reels, which I believe is a silk screen print method. If I can have reels printed with this method, I have several reelbands (about 10 pairs of 3) which I would orderd. And I will be willing to pay a good price for it 😉 So I am still on the lookout for the silkscreen backlighted print option.......... 🙂 (Edit: I cropped this image, so the resolution looks sh*t, but it is a high resolution originally)1 point
