  2. Well After day 3, I have almost finished the bottom glass. Only the reel windows to do, which I know is going to be a pain, and then I can do the top glass.

  3. Probably so, all screen printed I presume would save them cash. I’ll stick to this plan. Think I can do the machines proud with this technique. one a1 sheet for three bands. Tape original reels to the back, stick symbols I’ve cut out over the front on to a1 sheet. Spray and dry, 3 coats should make solid black and light proof. I did one coat today and it was “ok” on paper so more on transparent should make it spot on. then cut the light masks out attach them to the reels with double sided tape after a day of drying and then build the reels I hope that will give a good result, I’ll update everyone when all the bits arrive. This week apparently the reels are being printed. Lets see

  4. The wiring to the sensor looks a bit of a mess. Surely it never left the factory looking like that? As for the motor getting hot, it has to be energised all the time to keep the disc in position. The resistance of the windings is marked on the label, so you could grab a multimeter and measure them. If they're much lower than specified then it would explain the heat!

  6. This is exactly what happened to mine, despite it not having a battery to leak. Sadly doing the house up has taken priority.... It's a conventional PSU IIRC, no electronics just caps and a BR, I'm sure someone will confirm?

  8. Apart from the paper bands being a bit thick and not letting loads of light through (would work better with 2.2w bulbs) hit money test reel after spraying is a success :) IMG_2495.MOV

  9. While I’m sat here with a few hours and some spare paper bands for hit money and blue streak I’ve decided to cut the symbols out, stick them to the back of a hit money band and spray it.... see if that makes a good mask? Otherwise will be a separate print of a mask maybe on transparent?

  10. Screen Play is a great old semi lo-tech video affair from Maygay, thanks MFME v5.1 the sounds are now fully emulated. This comes in two flavours, a standard DX which represents the original machine. The screen is quite small and even on my larger screen I struggled with text especially when answering questions so I'd imagine a laptop would be impossible. So I re-designed the machine layout allowing for a larger screen in the top glass hopefully catering for all. Big thanks for this release to Stevedude2 for the existing DX, Ploggy for glass scans, Jonno & Sam for the roms, Stanmarsh for buttons, and Wizard for the updated MFMEv5.1 Moving forward all my work will be optimised for v5.1 Make sure you run this on MFMEv 5.1 only.

  11. Just to add The reel sensor where the tab passes through Has parts number TFK 23 TCYS 5201 509. I have found another reel motor here but it has different fittings as I think it's for normal reels rather than a wheel which reel 5 is! Doh!
