  4. Thought I'd post my progress here after a few hours work. I was keen to make an Each Way Nudger from scratch in 3D (possibly VR as well). I would be grateful for any graphics / scans of the glass, decals etc. for the full nostalgia. I've made the reels, spin and win detect logic and it looks quite nice so far. Next thing I plan to do is add a bot routine to sim-play it for random tweaking, with some AI for the way I'd play it with holds. After that comes the gambling and nudging stuff and finally put it all in a nice 3D model with all the fx. Maybe I'll even have a bank of them so you could decide which ones to play, just like we did in the arcades when we were kids Anyway, it would be nice if someone could help with supplying any graphics from the EWN unit. I'm using a nice set of fruits here which aren't the original ones, but the best I could find so far. The positions on the reels are correct as far as I know.

  5. Me personally, if they're working don't do much to them. If it's been working 20 years no reason to suddenly worry. At the slightest sign of an issue just bin it... the new one you could by could be worse after all.. I wouldnt loose sleep the danger is if you do have a good mpu fail or pick up a machine with one like my latest... you need to be thinking do I want to chance this lamp board?? Don't fit your collection of good epoch Mpu's to try it. Think first lol. Also if your testing any failed Mpu's unplug the serial link cable and just watch the Led's... this in turn can save other boards getting nuked. If it resets then you can plug the serial cable in.

  6. Yeah you can buy the double aa holders off ebay for about a quid each, them rechargeable batteries are about £6 for 4 though but they're good, if you have a recharger, recharge them every 3 months or so, but leave machine on during recharge or machine loses memory.

  10. Think the 5 Win spins is suppose to only pay £4 due to it being all cash. Poor programming on JPMs part

  11. You sure AA is a good idea? The MAH will be in 10x + the regular batteries

  14. That wiring is suspect,Those slides look like 50vac payslide solenoids with the red tag on them. if they are 50v and not 240v as they were on all BFs electro machine's operating spec when built, unless someone has converted it to 50v payouts then those coils will burn out very quickly. There should be a double Blue/brown wire which should be linked to one connector on both payslide coils The should be a single brown wire to the other side of the 10p coil. There should be a single Brown/Black wire to the other side of the token coil

  15. could be psu dropping in volts or the mpu check for dry joints in the psu and on the mpu plug

  16. I still have a scan of the schematics for Pool Play if anyone wants to have a go at it , but it needs a bit of deciphering as when I took the pic, digital cameras were only 2 mega pixels.

  18. Yeah its Rob who first warned me. It's an FPGA chip and has a program (just like the two on the impact main board). The chip is probably ok it's just the program corrupt or gone. The lamp board is the chief suspect... it's a shame because you can easily put more Mpu's in to keep trying and toast boards so always be weary of unknown lamp boards. I've got 3 nice condition mpu's like it. I'm a few weeks from trying the theory and transplanting donor chips onto them. 🤞
