well if they didn't know what goes on inside the chips emulation would never be possible, they do seem to want resources of roms from real machines on the premise that if the roms fail the data is lost, but real machine owners help them with resources, but doesn't seem to work the other way round sadly! a 2 tier system3 points

For Epoch to be Emulated on PC I think (think!) Some of the code must have been read already. It's not public the Emu guys seem to hold onto some of the custom programs?? Or not help to much with information anyway. It's the same with the chips on impact 1 motherboards to which I've got a few failed ones. There's also a lot of Mpu interface software we don't have or it's not public.... which quite frankly I'd love to have a go at. I hoped the FPGA chips might be reprogrammable through the RS232 or the Ethernet connections. None of the Genius Emulator guys will help us out with any pointers sadly. Thankfully with Epoch there's a lot of dead ones so if an actel chip goes down the option of transplanting another chip onto the good board is there.2 points

I tried, but it was not worth the time and effort needed as even with re-poch boards old ones were being re-purposed on them, my aim was to reproduce everything new as I did with other boards, but gave a lot of this all up as price is key and reusing old components outweighs using new these days. They can be done but not currently worth the effort2 points

Hi just a bit of descion realy just learnt today that a certain chip on a epoch board the actel one cant be cracked as its encrypted what means eventual epoch fruit machines would die does anyone know how to even begin to crack it eventual such as could you build some sort of decryption code to make it unencrypted just wondering peoples thoughts as would be nice to see it cracked so epoch can live on1 point

True but if you have a stash of boards and want it for yourself working/non working is not important. That's why broken machines can sometimes go for a more sometimes .1 point

Just hadn't seen on for years that's why it caught my eye. Yes guessed it would be could see a bit of board green on a photo too. Agree on the price, and heading further north every time I look, hardly near me either.1 point

Yes but well over priced.and we all know why its not working, battery damage.my italian job is working so must be worth £600 according to this.and its the only m1b i can play without being in the back every 2 minutes1 point

Me personally I think the real kudos comes from helping people and working together on all our a projects.... I personally don't get why they won't help Tbh.1 point

I know this thread is OLD! But a few more to add to this list I have Queen Vic - CK000233 Italian job - CK000309 Fight Night - CK000304 Superpots - CK000234 Unknown - CK00083 Not sure this is really relevant any more as the roms can be hacked to remove the dongle check now, I know it can be done as so far I have managed Donkey Kong, Fight Night, Italian Job, Queen Vic so far1 point

Just completely died a death whilst I was playing it. Swapped board but still no boot up. So swapped psu and still no boot up until I learnt I needed to put dil switch 8 up because I was swapping an m1b for an m1a. It booted up then. Next day,I took the psu out of my Donkey kong to eliminate fault findings there. That still wouldn't boot,so I put my psu back in Eastenders and now it makes a loud noise and lights stuck on. Been a nightmare. Hopefully get my boards sent off for testing this week thanks to a kind member on here who has offered help. Just need someone to look at my psu's. I have 3 other m1 machines, but dont want to risk those for breaking down tbh.0 points
