Hi just acquired this quite rare epoch alarm board and two batteries on one board meant double the leackage so just wondering can anyone repair this for me please it is quite bad but I think its repairable if you have skills1 point

well some manufactures on other electronics hold the program rom in battery backed up ram!, so when the CR2032 battery fails the equipment is then useless!!! and guess what! they want you to send it back to them to be reloaded at a cost of £250, now that's far more sneaky!!1 point

Get an old board, a soldering iron, solder sucker, and some solder and practice :). Theres loads of info on the net. Try and get into a position where you don't have to pay to get stuff done.1 point

It's just a standard alarm board. Nothing to to with Maygay or Epoch. I would just lob it :). In fact, I bet it's more reliable than an Epoch board1 point

Binned a few alarm boards over time also. Guess batteries on this type monitored door switches when machine was turned off. Some even had plastic cases around them with sounder built in, very loud but quite useless for home use.1 point

Yes it's a bit scary using the router in case it goes wrong and you ruin a whole side! But I'm getting better at it now. It's going to be a long resto for sure. Before it arrived it was going to be a quick fill and glue back together but due to the damp it was just never going to be right!1 point
