  1. I lost my kit with these tools in the 70s so got my bid in for these.😁 Timers and the cams on electro mechanical machines are set in degrees of rotation from 0 to 360 where the cam switches can be operated either just once or multiple times during one rotation. To set those cams is normally done as said above with a screwdriver of by hand but is a bit of trial and error to get them set accurately. These tools were made to lock into the cams much like a spanner making the job easier to set them to the correct settings.

  2. Hmmm, heard that before, so if they tested it on a proper bellfruit test rig why would that not show them it had a fault on before sending it back the first time still faulty? The proper rig tests every input/ output and the ram etc.

  4. To me there still looks corrosion on the board from the pictures, how has the board been confirmed as good after repair? How was it tested? Was it tested on a test rig?

  10. Blimey! I didn't even know such a tool existed. I always used a screwdriver and patience.

  11. yes lots of time! but I like a challenge! The tracks around the ram are still there, its just they was cleaned with a fiber pencil most likely 2 years or more ago now so have tarnished as have been exposed all that time to the air, but will be cleaned over again when I get to that area. I find limiting to a small area at a time a better strategy for me.

  14. I can fine tune the reel spins later (thanks for the feed back). In the meantime, I've been working on the top panel and the nudge stuff. Also, I've introduced the camera a bit more considering it's 3D and all. So, the camera can move to the focus of what's going on; in this example, the nudge option starts. I've also added some code for looking at the mouse pointer in the 3D world (the cube you see moving about). This will be so you can interact with the sim in 3D with the mouse instead of keyboard (and later maybe VR).

  15. After checking up I have not found any advertisements or pictures of it's release but, Not just this machine but any from DJE could be rare on the ground now. DJE Engineering were a small rebuild company but did have the help of Dransfield as a distributor of their kits and machines in the early 90s. The bad bit is Barcrest seemed to be after them from the start which finished in the high court in 1990 where Barcrest were granted an injunction against DJE from selling, leasing,or distributing machines containing Barcrest software. Apparently when Barcrest released Cloud 9, DJE also released their machine called Silver Lining. Barcrest heard rumors that DJE were producing Silver Lining and eventually obtained a sample of the program. The sample program was found to be virtually identical to Cloud 9, DJE had also released a machine called Bolt From The Blue which program was also found to be identical. It appears even before this injunction, DJE were already subject to an earlier action brought by Barcrest concerning the supply of infringing conversion kits. It did not end there as soon after Maygay were also expressed an interested in DJE conversions content.
