R3 btw mate, just so know. Like in photo. You should be able to connect to any ground spot if you have to, have had to that before when changing caps on Epoch.2 points

Hey Darren that method may be doable the battery pads are non existent so didn't even turn my soldering iron on but R3 and the Ground sections look OK will have another look tonight Just a quickie fellas ..is there an ideal temp to set the solder station to when dealing with epoch boards i.e soldering a tag onto R3 cheers Stef2 points

I quite like (electrical)contact cleaner. You can use IPA which is alcohol and not the bitter lol. Also degreaser for getting flux off and cleaning. I would keep blasting it for a day before you run it mate.1 point

@superbankYou got me back good there lol and I don't think its realy that much of a false statement if I go back threw you comments lol I was joking about you being a nice person as you seem ok to me and polite half the time I rest my case lol about you swearing theres probably a lot more if I go back lol Guaranteed way to slice you fingers open. FFS Ben, use a proper tool for stuff like this. Fucking around with knives will end up hurting yourself! How the fuck did I miss this???? Must have been pissed! Thanks ever so much for this Frig, up to the usual high standards that we have come to expect from you. I'll be giving this a good go over the next few weeks. BUT WITH ALL THAT SAID IT JUST WOULDN'T BE RIGHT ON HERE ANYMORE WITHOUT YOU AND YOUR SWEARING1 point

For the battery can’t you not connect 1 lead to R3 and one to ground? Or is corrosion stopping the solder from sticking?1 point
-
Evening folks ...Bens board has arrived at mine and im afraid to say its beyond my skills to solder on his battery there doesn't appear to be anything left to solder too :-( Is there anyone local to me here in Nottm who fancies a go at this cheers Stef1 point

Thanks for the shout mate. You've got another one coming your way soon. On a side note thanks to the Mecca members that have helped me out: Fruit58, Louiebee, Majik and a massive thanks to the legend Andrew96 for all the invaluable repair threads. 😎1 point

Another job done - rotten DMD connector replacement... Corrosion has travelled up the wire, notice the blackened copper. Wire cut back a few inches to reveal some half-decent copper to crimp onto: Brand new crimps and housing:1 point

Hi all Im very sorry to have to announce that Bell Fruit games factory will be closing. The clear out starts in Jan. All of the shop floor are being made redundant. I’m not 100% about development but would assume it won’t be good for them either. It’s such a shame but the market has moved on so much. The video products are doing really well now making games easy to distribute. Online also takes a huge chunk of players. I have had some great years there and met some brilliant people. I wish them all good luck for the future :(. Cheers John0 points
