  2. If you played them enough, you knew the nudge setups. JPM's and Barcrests had their own standard reel bands for a while..so you learned them very quickly. I started out on the original EWN, and JPM's where easy machines. But then again 1 or 2 quid jackpots, could last all day with very little profit..but that was the goal wasn't it. I'll be watching Chris217 videos on JPM's..and I'll still find myself saying.."You need x amount of nudges for the melons or grapes". It's disturbing how much useless crap you retain Statto

  3. I was having more breakdowns with my 90s machines than I was with my 80s lot. Tbh,it was becoming frustrating with them sitting broke a lot of the time. Olympic Gold was actually pretty reliable as was my Maygay Rovers Return. It did break my heart to see them go,although I thought it pointless to keep even those 2 in case they broke down. I'd say over all though I've done the right thing as I prefer 80s machines, and I didnt really play anything much after 1994. Sorry you were a bit late in your request. If you asked me while I had them and I'd have been happy to help.

  4. BFM/Whitbread - Olympic Gold Tech: Scorpion 2 Here's a Olympic themed machine from 1996, it plays a good game but the cashpot takes a long time to fill up. Unfortunately it's another mute layout due to missing sound roms. Keyboard shortcuts in the notes part of the emulator. Thanks to Wizard for the emulator The rom and image provider. Please use MFME V19.8 or later to play. Enjoy & stay safe. Olympic Gold.zip

  5. the volume pot on the m1b board is used for games which don't have the more complex sound generator on the program card, the M1b sound generator onboard IS still used for the alarm sounds, rather like mpu4 Try dip 8 on the second bank to on

  9. It’s usually a dip switch on the main M1 board for that, sound in attract (if it has that programmed into the rom code like coronation street and Eastenders does) but can’t remember which dip switch

  10. To give an idea as to how rare Cleartone machines from 1981 are. Bonus talker introduced at the London ATE show in January that year Second was an advert to promote Bonus Talker in March 81 Next the launch of two club machines in June 81 Finally in the news in October 1981.

  12. So here it is the second Bonus Talker:) hopefully now it might be possible to get one machine working, I know there were a couple of bad roms including a speech rom on the first machine, I just need to get the new roms tested and try to get a full set.

  14. Cool I'm tempted to have a go for you for tge challenge- can I see the underside? Also some close ups of those yellow circles in focus? Even though I can repair most of those vias there's probably on 30% chance of it working again (that's just epoch). I'd just spend 1.5hrs and leave it if it doesn't run after as I don't want to get into it too much e.g. removing the processor etc. All the ones I've done i usually run with that amount of work if not I abandon them and go onto the next.
