Hi Cannon Man I have some of the spade connectors for the buttons and they are a different tool as the IDC insert is a different spacing ... but i will look at that also So here is design V1 i have not copied the "MoonPoint" tool exactly as im not sure if there is patent on this ... so i have redesigned hopefully with some improvements I know that these tools have a flat end ... the expensive meta tools have a radius in the end to help centre the wire when pushing down .. so i have added this to the prototype The Printer is running some other jobs at the moment so will print the test version of this when they are finished ... im also in hospital tomorrow for a quick op "snip snip" so may be out of action for a day or two all the best Dicky2 points

they maybe expensive but they look good and assume will outlast any mass produced stuff. And they specially made so not everyone will have one.I wouldnt think twice if it saved damaging a machine that bits are hard to get for.I paid 40 dollars and 35 dollars shipping for a neon lamp to fit my gemeni jack.Yes i could have bodged it with a wire ended one but i wanted it original, these are quite big with a lense on the end to magnify it.I couldn,t find any here so i bought one from usa.If people want it,they will pay,and need to understand the work thats gone into it,not just the product.2 points

Well at long last I've started delving in to the murky world of MPS1. First impressions, there's a bit more to get your head round than MPS2 but being as it contains nearly all discrete stuff repairs are easier to achieve as parts are still available. None of those horrible TIPP116 transistors for a start! Not sure if the PAL chip goes faulty though but I haven't come across that yet. The tester has come into it's own too. A few common faults have shown up starting with short circuit tants on the power fail detection supply. There's two in parallel C97 and C31 (10uF/35v) but so far only C97 appears to go short?? I'm changing them both as a precaution. Quite a few of the normal input output failures due to the 74LS541 chips running hot and others with the odd port failed. Output fails due to bad BCX38 transistors. Had one that didn't boot and my hand touched IC6 (TMS9902) which made me squeal as it was roasting. The board booted on removal and ran the diags OK without it. I suspect only certain games would need this chip fitted? Another board not going to reset was caused by IC27 (74LS04). This was an odd one as BCLKOUT was missing from IC15 (74LS541). As with MPS2 I went straight for this chip but in this case IC27 had gone bad and this controls the o/p from IC15. Funny thing is IC27 isn't connected to anything it just goes to the extension socket on the side so why it went bad is a mystery? Lots more sticky faults to tackle most seem to fall into the Watchdog and I/O failure so quite a bit of head scratching to come methinks. Watch this space.....1 point

Here is a DX of BWB Miami Dice. Many thanks for Wizard for releasing mfme v5 Many thanks to the guys who had a quick playtest, much appreciated Hopefully this will work well on most PC's, it uses an overlay and has the screen skewed. I will release the bigger layout at some point, just not had that much time today unfortunately. J MiamiDice_1440DX.zip1 point

Well here's an updated layout of a classic mps game called test pilot.Loved playing this when i was a sprog lol,Thanks to ady which i think supplied the original glass scans and reels,hurtand165 for the 1024 this was based on and to ploggy for the stitched scans and for adjusting the reels and payout sounds for me and to wizard for the new mfme. Many thanks to all contributors. Shortcuts are the usual then T for take and S for shuffle/repeat button. Test Pilot Wdx.zip1 point

Well here's my finished layout of maygays just the ticket, don't know anything about the machine as i've never played it,so the layout design is based on guess work pretty much. This is a layout i would've never touched but for a friend on here requesting the game,it has been a royal pain in the arse to make due to the flyer being horrid so lamping was hard to do due to strokes around all lamps that wouldn't light up correctly,no game manipulation in test to see if things were working right. All shortcuts are as usual then P for pick n mix B for bonus S for super trail, enjoy or don't Thanks to wizard for mfme and to mav who upped some decent reel images some time ago. Hey yes I picked up the machine on Sat it's working right. I can try and burn the sounds back onto another set of Eproms to test them out... thats a strange one as I rekon I dumped them ok... were my game roms ok?? The only thing that's unsual about the machine is it has an extra board added into the serial link for the LED segment displays which I've never seen before on an Epoch. I'll have a look the next few days. If it runs the Reburned sounds that will prove the roms. Sure I can take some pictures for you. Hopefully there's not an issue with it. It's taken me years to find one so I wanted to share the files.1 point

Looks very promising! If you can make a tool for the spade connectors I'll definitely buy one. I have about 150 of them to wire up on my test rig project. Good luck for tomorrow!1 point

Aren't the flat parts too thick though? They need to be able to push the wire in without pushing the contacts apart.1 point

LOL I've just realised that I've just replied to my own post!!! I didn't realise it was my original post at the time lol1 point

Nice one Dave - just took a look and he has them... Note - £2.26 is "very expensive" when you live in Nottingham!1 point

Ok finally kind of done now. And a learning curve for me. This machine won't have the Mod4 with AY sounds. It has to have a genuine Mod 2 with the 24 pin sound chip. Not the 28 pin on the Mod4. But at least its something i know now. Ive never had this before. All Mod 2s ive got other than this happily work with Mod4 plus AY sounds. But here it is 🙂😋1 point
