Hi guys ... Last post for a while on the test rig, as its now all complete, i now have all the Test rom carts running ... its been a fun journey and a sense of achievement, as it is something i have always wanted to build ... wish i had done it 20 years ago ... but better late than never .. it certainly has filled the time during Lockdown which im sure will be coming to an end or easing off based on todays NHS figures ... So thanks guys for all the help in making this happen and i hope you have enjoyed sharing my Test Rig experience and it also started the tools thread which took me by surprise, as i did not think that there would be such a demand ... i still have the spade switch wire insertion tool to complete and also the button tool kit ... all coming soon When i find time i have some MPU4 units to repair and test on the rig so i will tag that onto this thread sometime in the future all the best ... Got the spindles left and right from Ebay,very good quality aswel £9.75 and the sateen wheels polish and mops online from the polish shop.

Haven't done an MPU3 for a while worth putting in the workshop thread. I was going to do a 'spot the problem' but it's the same as above. I completely forgot that I'd had the same before!! I'd already socketed the sound chip and put in new 754LS138 and 74LS12 chips and was just about to start on the marathon task of doing all the 6821's too then I spotted the cap. (thank goodness)

I get it all the time. She leaves shit everywhere, I leave a soldering iron or a coin mech lying around and she's onto me. Another thing she does is put stuff in draws. I ordered a new soldering iron tip and it vanished. Found it today stuffed in this draw. Really fucking winds me up.

First the Bad news ... after a while of running the eprom eraser went POP ... magic smoke came out ... i think the fact that it had been in the Damp basement for over 20 years had not been kind to it ... good bye old school so ordered one of them cheapy Chinese erasers of amazon ... The Good news is i put the reel test Program on a Blank 27256 and put that on the card ... i thought i would try it without changing the links ( currently set for 512k ) and the blooming thing works ... i thought it was gonna mess up when the address lines tried to access code that wasnt there ... but not the case all the best Dicky
