I'm sure it would have started as an MS111 with a 125 separator fitted. Pot Luck having the separate 20p mech like other machines at that time only used the 125 for three coin acceptance. The first 126 separator was not introduced until later that year and after Pot Luck, those first 126 had provision for a routing plug as the MS 111 did not have a routing plug socket. the later 126 did not need routing as the replacement MS mechs 115 etc had the routing plug socket The ME mech although same loom plug connection again was later..2 points

thanks Bob yes its been fun for me and also thanks to you guys for steering me along ... I have learnt a lot along the way ... some of it i learnt 30 years ago but needed reminding on hopefully it will inspire others to do this maybe with other techs ... or maybe start making things with a 3D printer ... ( have you got it up and running yet Andrew ) all the best ... Dicky1 point

The routing on a 125 separator is set by the wired link plugs inside the clear panel. there is usually a guide printed on the panel, if not here is pic.. It shows that the 125 can accept 4 coins but as it's only 3 way separation, two are down same output. Your 111 mech only needs to accept ยฃ1, 50p and 10p coins as 20p is S10 mechanical mech.1 point

Thanks @cyberbob & @BF74 Ron - had a chat with Young Cyberbob there and thanks to him and your wise words have ordered a 125 separator (i have an MS111 - just need to program it up), and hopefully all will be will in the world.... Need to check out the 20p mech also since this also doesnt seem to function, however that's an analogue switch style so should be easier to take a look at. So are we saying that the Ms111 alongside the 125 sorter doesnt need any routing at all, just as default? This machine arrived with me knowing that it needed "tweaking" to get coins working... didn't realise how much of a challenge these mechs can be Thanks chaps - will report back..1 point

Hi guys ... Last post for a while on the test rig, as its now all complete, i now have all the Test rom carts running ... its been a fun journey and a sense of achievement, as it is something i have always wanted to build ... wish i had done it 20 years ago ... but better late than never .. it certainly has filled the time during Lockdown which im sure will be coming to an end or easing off based on todays NHS figures ... So thanks guys for all the help in making this happen and i hope you have enjoyed sharing my Test Rig experience and it also started the tools thread which took me by surprise, as i did not think that there would be such a demand ... i still have the spade switch wire insertion tool to complete and also the button tool kit ... all coming soon When i find time i have some MPU4 units to repair and test on the rig so i will tag that onto this thread sometime in the future all the best ... Hi There are several alternate chip sets that do this on electrocoin techs 1. MAB 2. Concept Games 3. Chuzzy All can flash the win and give you the extra nudges you need to get that win. Electrocoin also do there own roms where you can get up to 6 extra nudges but these are hidden and you don't get a flash to warn you its going to happen.1 point

https://youtu.be/pyl9px9EMhE here you go! My next bit to learn is why the 3rd reel sticks for 5 mins and just spins freely without the lock bar kicking in? After about 5 mins of play it works fine but until then Hold and Nudges do not work properly. To save me keep asking individual questions of the brilliant minds on this forum, is there a manual that can be sourced to look up troubleshooting etc? cheers all1 point

If only it was that easy!! Replacement 8255 chips arrived today so put one in and ...... nothing, wouldn't even boot! Thinking I've just bought a load of duds so before trying another one I thought I'd just check some things. Lo and behold there was no signal on SEL3 which appears on pin6 of IC38. Quick check with the meter and it's 35 Ohms to ground, that's not good. SEL3 comes from the PAL chip and when that was removed the short went. Borrowed a PAL chip from another board and the signal returned. It would now boot but still no lamp activity. Next step was to check the C0-3 lines out of IC38 and C3 had no output. Out with the meter again and yet another short to ground!! You couldn't make this up. This time IC27 (74LS04) had gone bad. Once replaced I could now scan the lamps 50-5F. Is that it you ask? Well not quite, lamps 60-6F don't light and I'm not sure why yet. When it switches from 50-5F to 60-6F the MUX timeout kicks in so a bit more head scratching yet. I'll get there eventually.1 point
