  3. I had a full MPS2 day today. One of the good ones was one I had already started on and was revisiting. It passed the diags OK last time I checked it but this time, on boot up, I was greeted with a few lamps on that shouldn't have been. (30, 31, 32) The slightest touch of the board or connectors would extinguish the lamps or set off the alarm and reboot? After a little bit of head scratching I checked the voltages on IC21 CF70000. A few of the inputs were low and they should be held at 5V by SIL5 (470R 9 pin resistor network). On removal it fell apart but on initial inspection it looked absolutely fine! Getting back to the weird boot up fault with game software I'm trying to find, I now have another two or maybe three boards doing almost the same thing???? This has got to be something common but as to what I can't get my head around. The board above also does it although it's behaviour is slightly different. It boots, does the first reel movement, the farting noise and then does it again and again etc. This one may make it easier to find what's occurring as all the others just seem to lock up. One of the previous boards I had a look at again this morning and oddly enough it did complete the boot a couple of times on power up/down. Once booted it played absolutely fine! So from that it would appear that maybe it's something marginal but as to what I haven't a clue? Of course a new power cycle and it was back to square one!

  4. So I have started it,but unlike other models these fittings are fold back rivets so not come off,so I've carefully polished them in situe and re glued the bubbling vinyl cover, considering it was rusty I'm quite happy.so now for main cab.in the lid you will see 2 holes in the cover, that is for felt pads that push inner plastic down.ive ordered some new ones that will do the job as old ones were knackered.keep watching

  5. Does sound like it is very likely to be one rom then, I have no idea why people think putting a rom the wrong way round would make the machine work again!!! Seems to happen a lot!!!
