  3. Ok it’s done. I started this about 5pm yesterday, have not been working on it every hour but have now just finished it at 7pm today! before and after pics!!! might stick it on eBay and see if it will do £65 like others in there I have seen!! silicon count was 3 transistors, 3 1N4148 diodes, one cpu plcc socket, one 20way pal socket and one main 96 pin connector! Total cost in parts a couple of pounds! Cpu card was 3 for £25 so £8.33, guess it owes me about £10 in money! It Really does take less time to build a new card up than repairing old ones!!!🤣

  5. Well I thought I'd share this with all you EM fans on here. Firstly though,Thanks Massive to our resident expert and friend BF74. Ron has done an amazing job on my Ten Up which arrived this morning and looks, and sounds very sweet. Lovely smooth reel drops sounds and coin acceptance and payouts. Inside it definitely has had that special touch from cleaning and greasing all the mechanical parts, and the repair of that cam that had me head scratching lol😁 I wont say too much more as I think Ron may post a new topic on this. To the Legend though..... You are a master of your game and I thank you so so much. I am so overwhelmed here🤗 Here's a video soon after she arrived. Just got to get her upstairs now for a good Play😉

  6. Well another interesting day in the workshop. The weird fault of not running game software I think I've solved. I hit on something last thing yesterday and confirmed it this morning. The farting noise during boot up is the same noise as a coin stuck alarm! Although most of the boards ignore this and carry on some don't. I've found, by chance, that booting the boards with the reel sensor switches closed they boot every time and play faultlessly. Why some need this and some don't I haven't a clue but "that'll do for me Tommy"! If I was using a real machine I would never have come across this unless all the reel sensors just happened to be blocked by the reel tabs.

  8. in a arcade they are on 8 hours a day every day, this recharges a battery inside, by using a machine now and a gain is not good enough, battery goes flat error occurs, you have to leave machine ON at least a day to charge the battery then make sure you have the machine on for a good few hours at least once a week

  9. Looks like you might have to bite the bullet and swap out IC8 then. If that doesn't do it then it's head scratching time!

  10. My thoughts were Peter Simper as they had been going for many years and the date makes my think could be one of their earlier electro machines. These were bit later but you can see resemblances.

  11. Ah yes the payout timer and the typical amateur butchering. "Alterations" Either to the reels even any timer on the main control panel are quite common on the 70s machines by those having just basic or no knowledge of how electro machines work. If it were me, I would put everything back to how it was and start from there, Chances are the grapes will go back to 50p. To help this is how that timer works and originally wired. It controls cam switches 13 to 20. cam13 being nearest to the timer motor and just count along from there. Cam switch 13 controls the timer motor so once started it makes sure it completes a 360 degree full turn. Cam switch 14 is the pulse to the payout relays which in turn pulse the pay slides. Cam switch 15 controls 10p Win relay A, this restricts payout to just 10p for the first two alike symbols in reel 1 & 2 Cam switch 16 controls 10p win relay B, this restricts payout to just 10p for just the bells in any position in first two reels Cam switch 17 controls the 20p win relay, It might still be marked 15p relay if back door chart still there as they started out as 15p cash Cam switch 18 is the top and token win relay so whatever jackpot this cam controls the amount it pays out. Cam switch 19 is for the 50p change and shuts payout off after 50p is payed out. This switch will possibly be linked to the 50p wins as part of the conversion, later machines with a separate 50p win and were fitted with a 21 cam switch timer. Cam switch 20 shuts off 50p lockout coil and disables 50p coin switch during payout cycle.

  13. board no 1 Took about 3/4 of a hour to be stripped in the corroded area because the 96 pin plug had to be removed! board no 2 took about half hour to strip this, as the processor socket had been out before and changed a good few of the through holes were quite mis shaped, so had to spend some time redressing the holes! But as it’s the samE rot patten the bits to be taken off are the same
