  1. most likely no one knows, if it is not listed in the manual then it is likely to be some kind of hardware error on the main board, but what it could be means investigating further, thats my best guess with the information available

  4. Have these (some years) - Epoch boards came from a Simpsons Duff Beer Guide, working when dismantled (had suffered damage to glass/door frame) - nothing to test in - best to assume may need repair. Heber with daughter board deffo didn't work - maybe useful for parts? Heber with Sunny Streak ROMs came from an early 3-player set up with top box, acquired dismantled and never reconnected - nothing to test in - best to assume may need repair. If of any interest, can be posted for £3.10 2nd Class Small Parcel (anything anyone prepared to offer much appreciated and will help with cost of repairs to an old pinball recently rescued and undergoing repair)

  5. agree with you whole heartily Mavroz! Every now and again I think I could sell this new board or that, then I remember the hassles and pitfalls do decide not to, sad really as its only been the fruit machine world I have had this problem with, when I used to be in the tv / video satellite repair business I would often trust people especially when I thought I had done the repair but was not sure until it was tested a lot, so things like payment was deferred until it was sure the problem had been solved! Or perhaps people were more grateful back then than they are in today's age, I don't know! but I know not to release anything and after a comment left earlier on a thread not to bother helping and certainly won't be posting how to correctly set up VR3 on MPS power supplies! Someone else can work that out and post! I love electronics just not the hassle of people!!!

  6. I used to be generous also but the thing is it very rarely came back. Time after time, I agreed to pay people what they wanted for items asking for a PayPal to gift money to and then silence...... Pm's being ignored, even when they had been read. Eventually I got a reply saying the item had been broken or it was right at the back of the shed behind this, that or the other and it would have to be dug out.... Still waiting to this day, yes that was via the Mecca and some of it's members. I would prefer people to say nothing than promise things then avoid, lie and make excuses. Lesson learned. I sold pretty much everything, all my machines bar 3 and nearly all of my spares etc. Yes i still get a bit of swag every now and again when I get a lead from past sellers but most goes online or to friends I have met over time. I do have some Epoch boards (sell a lot of items online and you get many many messages offering to buy 'any' boards in any condition before anyone else gets a chance to even see them). If duds with battery rot are fetching 40 quid, then sod it, if that's what they want to pay for advertised non runners, then bring it on.. That's unfortunately the way it is for me now but enough said. Enjoy.

  7. Yeah you guys are legit (partially 🤣), but lately there's totally destroyed boards falling in the same untested category. People seem happy to pay £40 for them and take a gamble when clearly they're never going to work and all of a sudden all broken epochs are now priced at £40. People then cry if you sell a repaired one at £60. I think it's around 1 in 4 that's repairable so it's no longer economical to buy and repair them. Just makes me feel bad that I've given 4 ive repaired away and now got to pay loads for shite boards. I'm leaning more to helping no one but don't it like that TBH 😔

  8. yes its a big problem, which is why I now don't sell anything or do repairs, everyone even laughs when you mention static protection when handling boards even! so why would I want to put myself in a position where I use ALL static precautions possible for someone to then open up the boards wearing there woollen jumper then walking across there nylon carpet putting the board at tremendous risk of failing or failing early!

  9. I sell all my Fruit Machine items as 'untested' as they are 'untested', 'untried' and are sold as spares or repair. I have done it this way for many years with everything i clear out that i don't want. I don't have the time to try the things that i could, i don't have the time to mess around with board repairs for a buyer to put it in their knackered machine, destroy it then start whinging and whining it doesn't work as they do all so regularly. They tried it with Mpu4 boards that i sold as 100% working which they were and they soon came unstuck! Just saying, i am one that sells items 'untested' as you said you have no idea who does.😉

  10. If you donated to the forum you may find you get a better response from its members... The bin files for Barcrest MPU6 are available, you just need a friend in the know!
