  1. Well put a correct 8mhz one in and it now runs at 8mhz!!!! i must admit if I had used my old oscilloscope I would not have noticed it running at the wrong frequency, I am not a great fan of Lcd oscilloscopes but it certainly has its uses!! just need to put the missing bits back now and I am sure it will now run rock solid! Just need then to get the impact fruity out of being in packed away storage!

  3. This one I repaired some time ago, it worked in a machine but would now and again reset, Lots on it was then changed in the suspicion it still had a faulty component, it still randomly reset! the GAL and socket I then removed as thought I must still have a bad track, it was then put to one side and that’s where it remained for the past year or more! (it would also sometimes not boot either, but mostly would reset)) so tonight had a bit of bench space so thought I would power it up and check and see if the cpu clock was low in voltage causing problems clock looked good, did not look anything wrong with the level or shape of the waveform. Now when I looked at this a year or more ago I never had this oscilloscope, but it has a heap of information on what it is displaying! It actually showed the Waveform frequency as being just 5 MHz!! this should be 8 MHz so at least it does look like this is the likely problem! The 74hc04 and the resonator 22pf load capacitors have all been previously replaced. So this will be interesting to find!!

  7. She looks really nice. Nice and clean inside too. It pays out in 2s,10s and 10p tokens. Also came with a tube of JPM tokens 2p's and a few quid in old 2 bobs. The token solenoid pays out 4 tokens at a time.

  8. New top cover made from perforated metal sheet bought off eBay ( I figured they cannot fake that on eBay) and all back together now!! so rifas, and VR3 replaced and faulty crossed wiring sorted! front plastic and top cover made! not as easy repair as I thought it was going to be but I do tend to find things I repair tend to be the worst compared to others on here! It is my luck lol!! It is now ready for my MPS test rig!! Yay!!!

  9. yes it was a perforated sheet of stainless steel as that was the cheapest and I thought that won't rust either! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-Steel-Round-3mm-Hole-x-5mm-Pitch-x-1mm-Thick-Perforated-Mesh-Sheet/133402841178 I selected 500mm x 200mm sheet and cut 20mm off the side and 100mm off the length with a hacksaw, ground the edges down with a bench grinder and then a file. It was tougher than I thought so suggest getting aluminium sheet or a type that is easier to cut and bend! stainless looks good but was a bit of a bugger to work with!! I had to make a cover as the power supply I got did not have one!
