  1. Cheers Rob, never thought of the wood blocks I’ll look into that. I honestly had a heart in the mouth moment as my pride and joy was slipping out my hands 😂 not a nice feeling as you say 🤪

  2. Ah right ok, I know in MPU3 it is a 30 ohm speaker which is basically pulsed with 12v so needs a beefy 22 ohm resistor in series with the speaker if it is changed for a 8 ohm one, but don't know SRU so thought I would mention it

  3. the proper speaker was 0.5 watt so guessing the amp is putting out less than that, good point tho I might double it up

  4. Here is a first step for anyone with a Bluemoon to try. You will need a hex editor,a programmer and some roms(obvs) With a hex editor load the rom file attached with this post(not sure about any other versions)and scroll down to address $4000 The exact address is $4001(shown in the red square) If change that byte to 02 it will disable the rom checksum routine that verifies that the rom has not been altered or is corrupt.(Binary %0000 0010) if you change that byte to 01 it will disable the CHR chip check but you will get a checksum fail as you need to set bit 1 as above.(Binary %0000 0001) so change that byte to 03 to disable both(Binary %0000 0011) I don't have a machine here for checking the CHR loading of lamp sequences etc.(i am only using MAME) so here is a table below on what i have discovered with byte $4001. Can somebody with a machine or test rig,experiment/correct/update etc. Use on a machine at your own risk etc. blu23.bin

  6. A jackpot of £20+ lit bank for three pigs, The drawback to these machines was the two progressive jackpot windows. Although in the small print declaring that a close sequence of large wins may reduce the number of coins paid out. Like the Tic Tac Dough, Although £30 printed on columns did not guarantee a £50 jackpot.

  7. Cheers matey hope so too, I love this machine (as its similar to Runway Trail) which equally bombards you with insane sounds!!! So super eager to get this up and running. This is the machine I was on about in my other message, this fell onto its back 🤦‍♂️🙈 minor lamp mask issues which have been double sided foamed back to the glass 🙂 Will do a video on YouTube when it's back up ans running again 🙂👍 cheers for the message 🙂

  8. Great work, casters are the way forward as it makes life SO much easier! You can adapt under you Royal Ex with some added wooden blocks cut which is what I did for this new beauty! But yes the other option is to cut a thick board to hold the weight and attach the casters to that, I've done that to my Lucky Strike. The new ideation which is also a Barcrest, I just cut some wooden blocks and attached that to the machine screwing the casters into both the block and machines bottom rim, works a treat! Yep those two wheels are a nightmare, I dropped this new machine from near on up right on its back as lost my grip getting it out of the car 🤦‍♂️🙈 luckily the plastic bulb masks only came off, very lucky!!! Yep know that feeling well 😆

  10. I remember something similar in our old bingo Hall. I think it was a Bell Fruit black box machine with the lovely audio reel drop sounds. Cannot remember what it was called. It had 3 reels and I think was £30 jackpot. All the grannies had to queue to play on it one credit each at a time. Nice info Ron.

  12. I remember my local bingo hall having a proper mechanical Tic Tac Toe, with the window full of 10p coins. There was an instant queue after each bingo session. I didn't see many of these COPS machines in situ, but I have had a couple at home in the past, and they were pretty basic. Surely not worth 300 squid min bid?
