Came across this today in one of our work storage container's so i thought id take a couple of pics. This is spent nearly 7 years in storage but is still in the same condition it was when i put it there. PSU,Boards and monitors where removed before storage. This is going to be brought into the workshop in the spring for a full restoration. I've been doing loads of software R&D stuff on GUAB hardware over the last few weeks and threads for that and and the 2 machine (the one above and the one from kent)restorations will be created in the new year. A nice few projects for 2021 to look forward to.2 points

2 full days at this now and its all up and running :-) Ive had to pop my spare working boards in to get this far so will probably need to ship my non workers away for repair. Faulty SRU controller , mini logic and display all need looking at Everything bar the cable loom has been stripped out and cleaned, top and bottom glasses had to be cleaned and have the masks re-attached so they are now great the usual buttons, lamps, and pay slides out for a clean all spot on now I have changed the old 10p to new 10p and appears to be accepting, playing and paying ok only niggle is that some 10p's fly through the mech and dont register a credit 😞 could this be down to the new 10p's not moving the credit wire far enough to "click" is there an adjustment i could make? a few pics of the works 😉2 points

Just found this site and thought I'd stop in to say hello as what you lot are doing with our old machines is amazing! I worked at JPM from the late 80's to 2000 then founded Red Gaming in 2000. Pretty much responsible for the design of most of our AWP, Club, SWP and Export machines. Just found out that one of your members is trying to build a Red Dwarf from scratch and was very impressed! it was hard enough creating the original let alone trying to do it from a terrible picture and some ROMS! I'm now in Australia so can only admire what you are all doing from afar. It's also such a shame that neither JPM nor Red survived the turmoil in the gaming industry. The world is a poorer place for it.1 point

Hi Guys, I am ex JPM and founder of Red Gaming, just stumbled on this site and wanted to help someone out on the Red Dwarf topic but the forum isn't letting me post replies to posts. Any idea why? Ok ignore this as just posting here seems to have unlocked the rest of the forum.1 point

Here is a lo-tech machine from Project-- Reflex simular to jokers wild in appearance. Thanks and a BIG thanks go to these guys To Captain Haddock for his classic layout used for lamping positions Jonno/Launton for giving me the images/reel bands of this machine in the first place. To Welshskiprat for his machine where the photo's were taken from, and for a video he made for the attract mode and to Steelfix for his help with W-SkipRat in uploading said video. As for the attract mode i tried in vain to get it like the machine in the video but couldn,t seam to work it out maybe its because its a different rom used P26 instead of welshskiprat's P68 or it could be me being thick lol, either way it doesn,t affect the gameplay but like to try to get it right. Hopefully skiprat's Roms will be uploaded sometime whether they're the original ones or not remains to be seen. Shortcuts are as standard except Reflex = R ENJOY and HAPPY GAMING!!!!! updated layout further with blended lamps and now includes a £2.40 cash version Updated version for mfme v19.8+ Project's Reflex £2.40jp All Cash -£4.80 Token Dx's.zip1 point

JPM Thriller Tech: System 5 Here's a spooky themed machine from JPM in the form of Thriller. A Huge thanks goes out to @Amot for purchasing the actual machine and providing all the resources for this layout which ticks another machine off the wanted list and also the SYS5 list. There is also a font included in the download for the Thriller name at the top of the layout. Thanks also go to Wizard for MFME and @Big J for testing. Plays in MFME V20.1 only Thriller.zip1 point

Thank you so much for that John. Following your earlier post I obviously had no idea what to to do so thought I would apply a bit of logic to the problem. I figured that the S10 mech (token) would be the easiest as I could press the microswitch that an accepted coin would trigger. I removed the mech and the machine showed 2 credits every time I pressed it. To my inexperienced brain that told me that the board was accepting signals for accepted coins. I put one of my 20p tokens through the removed mech on my bench and it passed straight through. I tried the token into the slot at the front of the machine and it wouldn't pass through. Looking inside the machine I couldn't see anything obvious so I unscrewed the plates that directed the tokens into the S10 mech. It was stuffed full of tokens, it must have jammed at some point and the coins had all backed up. Long story short, now the mech is cleared the machine works as it should. Just goes to show how simple a solution can be without having to dig deeply. The machine is in really good condition so I am going to revert it back to older coinage to keep it as original as possible. I will post a video at some point of this week. Bob, Nick and John, thanks guys, you are brilliant.1 point

That didn't take too long, and it works too! Thanks again for the inspiration Andrew. The board with the burnt audio chip is now working fine. Luckily no collateral damage was caused. The 53v rail had b een patched out with a wire by the battery area and some stray voltage was still being picked up. I decided to isolate that part of the track to save any future possible burn ups in that area. Once isolated there was no stray voltage at all. However, putting the meter on the isolated track it was still showing 3-4 volts under bone dry conditions. No doubt in damper conditions it would probably track over! The other board with the 53v rail track burnout is not quite so straightforward. It does initialise and starts with the bleeps the first time so I'm happy the CPU is running OK and it must be reading the ROM to know how to set the audio going. Other than that it goes no further. I think this will be a lockdown job!1 point

Here is the dx version of the classic i did for this, Quality old skool fun from maygay As you can see the layout isn't the best quality this is due to the flyer/image used. even though infection Upscaled the flyer due to the poorness of it, it still came out crap but i wanted to dx it so here it is thanks goto infection for the image retrofruit for reel symbols used Amot for the roms used originally the layout itself due to quality isn't locked and hopefully one day it maybe improved on play it in mfme v20.1 Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!! Triple Hold, Housed in an ACE cabinet this is someone's conversion most probably on Super Monte Carlo as the payout cup is on the left side whereas it's predecessor, Monte Carlo the payout cup was sited on the right hand side of the cabinet. The reels are still from that machine but some subtle changes to the win plan includes removing the two matching symbols with bar win line and reducing the three Oranges from 10p to 8p. This I would say is to control the % payout allow the added extra holds feature, The decal of which is situated where the original manufacturer ACE had their own logo. 1p play so 10p/5p coins in for change to 1p coins rather than the previous tokens....1 point
