A good 35 years or so since playing one of them, they use to have these lined up with other Jpms and Blackboxes, then all the £3, £4 and then £4.80's came in, a double decade of delight.3 points

Rob, are you sure it's not ORG/RED? If so that should be the 10p cash sensor and it goes on pin 22.1 point

Yeah I like Epoch and once you have a few good sets of parts it's actually pretty reliable (better touch wood still though 🤣) Broken epoch machines are available from £0-40 I have picked up about 5 like that and it's the best way to accumulate spares cheaply. You do need a few good Mpu's too only off legit people. If it's listed untested but looks a ok it's probably broken. There's alot of epoch threads on here, I think there's a manual .pdf in the downloads if you donate. Lots of people come here trying to fix an epoch so everyone has already tried to help alot of people so it will be one you have to fix yourself. Put in the time and groundwork and there's no reason why you won't have alot of fun with it... It's a decent challenge 😎1 point

Brilliant machine. £1 jackpot. Is this one of Carousels old machines. They had about 4 of them up until last year. Think some of them have been retired now.1 point

Try checking the socket, to see if the power and program pins are matched to a standard 2708, if they match the others on the board, good chance its the same, might be one salvaged from a used source that specified a manufacturers part number, rather than a normal eprom number, some do this to stop the circuit being pirated. It does look like that board could benefit from some IPA1 point

Right here we go in the zip file are 2 folders one for SRU and one for System 80 there are also 2 files with some RS parts that i think match the originals. With work and other more pressing projects it went on the back burner and stayed there but now i hope this can help these boxes being re produced(not by me as i still don't have time). Don't forget these drawings are over 8 years old and i only had the boxes for a very short time(so they may not be 100% accurate) Test Boxes.rar1 point

I forgot all about this and I have found some schematics and part numbers on an old usb drive(both SRU and System 80).i thought these along with loads of other files where lost forever when my hard drive suddenly packed up a few years ago. im not sure how accurate they are as I only had those units for a few days and just worked it out the best I could with a multimeter Plus it was years ago. i will upload what I have tomorrow.1 point

ive seen these type of takeovers in my professional life. i can just see JPM with R&D budget cuts, rehashing loads of ideas, tight schedules, quantity before quality and all the good staff leaving within 18 months. results = it’s JPM in name only.0 points
