  8. Not been doing much on the machine this due to waiting for the glass frames. They arrived back today but they never polished the scratches out prior to anodising! anyway it was free so I will send them back after xmas. I wanted to carry on with the build so I have started assembly of wiring and frame. I have also put some iron on edging on the front door and on the front frame near coin mech. I will do the other areas later. just a couple more pics. Thanks for following this build and hope you all have a great Christmas.

  13. Superb bit of work Andrew. I try to steer clear of Scorp 1 repairs but would love to see what the tester actually does.

  16. The Bolton one, Club Nudger, is now in my workshop. I've even 'nudged-in' a win; the aforementioned crown on centre reel that pays 5p, no less! I'm impressed. No 'hold' and one 'nudge'. I wonder if the Carnoustie 3-way win is for sale? No point having ONE of ANYTHING, in my book!

  19. I do still have the scorpion 1 test rig, and after reviving some great help from someone it had prompted me to have another look into this, what I discovered was I believe the program card I was using was f*cked and I had no idea!! So on some very good advice and program card identification I found I had a very sorry looking system85 card which is known to work on this rig!! yes it’s in one hell of a state!!! Very corroded, nothing rotted through but just in a not useable state! Gold coated pins were badly corroded too!! It’s really fit for the bin!!! so after finding the original connector is STILL available I set about the refurb and ordered some the solder on it was dreadful!! Very stinky of the usual rot and corrosion smell when heated, eventually the solder was persuaded to be removed and the pads were all re-tinned with fresh solder and solder wicked! the chip was fine so it also was cleaned, re-tinned and tested again! ( yes I know it’s a similar process to how the Chinese fakers clean the pins up, but I do it far more kindly than they do) around 6pm the new connectors arrived from Farnell!! Yes exactly the same part number so identical specifications to the original DIN connector! Its looking really good now!! to cap it all parts cost less than a fiver! Much cheaper than anything second hand on eBay and it’s all new!! I really appreciate the help one member on here has given me! Without your help recently I would not have touched this project at all at this time, possibly never! So Thankyou so much!! this whole test unit could live again!!

  20. Going by the manual they should be DIN 41612 type C connectors. RS, Farnell etc.

  25. See there you go again " I no longer produce things like this to help others " Shows when you don't like something you throw your toys out the pram. Here is what I can do but no you can't have it is the worst attitude of all. I can't reproduce anything, too dumb for that but I do know how to repair stuff as evidenced by helping Joe with his Stop the Clock. So you have no position to question my input to this website.....EVER. I don't belong to any other fruity websites, what I need to say goes right here. Andrew, I love what you do and admire your technical abilities immensely, they just seem to come with a negative payload most of the time. Life and humans suck sometimes but the older I get the more I just go with the flow, it's nearer the end than the beginning for most of us, have the best possible day every day. However, I am becoming more mouthy with age, just like the olde folks we used to scorn for being the exact same way lol.

  28. Most 80s machines seem to have pretty big price tags these days. Hope you find what you're looking for though. Welcome to the forum. As Superbank correctly states.... Finding someone willing to sell is something else But you are in the right place for starters orders.
