  1. All my old ram chips I used for testing of the 2 ram chip boards have now finally failed! eBay well there are just full of fake counterfeit parts, blatantly obvious from the pictures they are not what they are shown to be! Some don’t even have date codes on the chips and the blacktop is in the recesses if the chip! so I decided to get these pcb’s made up to be able to use modern ram that is more robust than the flakey old ram, a handful in the production stage currently, it takes the place of both ram chips

  5. another point i spoke to them about changing the laws on pre legacy machines & they said that it would need to be an act of parliament, but also said they have no interest in the classic machine collectors, they have much bigger fish to fry like the Lotteries people keep putting up on social media & the likes, & online gaming thats where the problem lies, you must have seen that from march Cat D machines are for over 18s only, this has come about from some shit in europe & they appear to have left the online stuff pretty much alone, attacking over 16s & under 18s playing a specific machine in an arcade ! thats another kick in the nuts, the seaside arcades will cope without them though, but why attack us when the main issue is online ?

  6. ive told the chruch to cancel the tombola as its a gambling device capable of giving a prize by way of a tin of beans or a toilet roll holder if a winning ticket is picked after youve paid and its spun i know they wouldnt want to get in bother with the GC lol

  8. It's all about greed at the end of the day. And the hobbyist has been pushed aside. Not just by inflated price and by those who flout the rules to improve their own profits. There is a market for older machines and the inflated prices has given opportunities to those who think they can make a quick profit at the collectors expense whether they abide by the rules or not! These people do not care for amusement history. Machines can go to strangers never to be seen again. Then 20 years down the line its on ebay as an antique! I suspect the GC will investigate the possibility of taxing the sales of legacy machines knowing these are collectables that could bring them in a lot more revenue. The main difference for me and many of us on here is ,I am a collector of amusement machines ,not gambling machines. And there should be different rules for repairing legacy machines too. And that's where the GC need to draw the line.

  10. I would say it was the time when machines changed from tokens to all cash. Removing Token or A.W.P. Amusement With Prize replacing them with category machines were the death of fruit machines as I knew them.

  11. Lets go back to 1989 with this extra special slot the 4 reel £4,80 version of barcrest's BlackJack Awp I remember playing this back in 1990 in a greasy spoon in cirencester and been after these roms for a age BIG thanks goto Ploggy for uploading said roms, Pook for his £4 mini layout which i used for 90% of lamp positions etc ( i may redo the £4 version next as only a card reel needed in reel 4!!) Special Thanks to Booze net for the images he uploaded a while back, which i used parts of them to copy n paste over the ropey flyer i got. also an image used to identify some of the reel positions, which have been a pig to find and get correct, hopefully they are now we'll see lol. and for the mage used for the number overlays for the reels and to whoever else may of contributed with it. This plays a cracking game which will get you hooked like you were back in '89' all over again!!! Any errors please let us know and i'll amend if possible. Shortcuts are as standard Enjoy and Happy Gaming layout amended now includes coins in/out /meters sounds and correct token input thanks goto ploggy/richy1976 and the main man Wizard for help and information. 12. Morning all, just to be clear, my recent rant about unlicensed AWP sellers was not aimed at Legacy & pre legacy machines ( like the stuff we all collect ) its aimed solely at people selling modern machines in big numbers without an operating license, theres loads of fruit machines for sale & wanted on Facebook & theres clearly people selling them commercially without the proper licence, i have to pay £5k per year for our Sell, Supply , Manufacture & repair license, these guys are just flouting the law, which makes it an uneven playing field in my eyes, we dont sell much in the lines of AWP other than PX`s we take that we just flip into licenced dealers we know, we have to hold a licence for Cranes, redemption machines & the likes of that as they are all classified as gambling, im about to approach the GC to see if they will listen about making legacy & machines before that Exempt from the Gambling laws, probably on a 20-25 year rolling age ( bit like classic car tax ), i will try this through a consultant to see if we can make any headway. cheers for now, Ian

  14. Great stuff Andrew, it looks like you've sorted the different chip spacing on the boards too. Brill. $64k question, how much will the boards be? I'd be interested in unpopulated ones.

  15. Agreed Pete. Id say any machine pre 20p play needs to be exempt from needing a licence to sell .

  16. if you submerge the whole machine in water whilst turned on and touching it the noise should disappear forever failing that , get shirts round ... he'll sort it

  17. Disagree with you. I interpret it as it states the GC has very little interest in any one that collects prelegacy machines home machines (not put for financial gain) I read that as they're not really interested in laying the Law on us full stop. They never have been. If you collect home fruit machines there's no need to really react or worry about what you do. Realistically I'm not going to be taken to court for changing 2 bulbs on my home machine 😎 that's ridiculous. It's pretty funny how people can get scaremongered. Seems like Eason is just kicking off at licences holders who are abusing there position. Don't worry people 😎

  20. after consultation with both the Gambling Commission & also with our independent Gaming consultant this is what they have said, this is the law, nothing to do with me or anyone else this is law, like it or dont like is this is what you need, im not looking at grassing anyone or having a dig at anyone, the AWP market is not my forte, & never will be, i wheel & deal in classic collectors machines as anyone who knows me & my company will be aware ,its all about a level playing field in the selling marketplace & being legal with your business. 1. Full Manufacture & Operating licence: To Manufacture, Supply, Install, Adapt, Maintain & Repair a gaming machine or part of a gaming machine. 2. Operating licence, to Supply: Supply, Install, Adapt, Maintain & Repair a gaming machine or part of a gaming machine. 3. FEC Licence : To operate an Family Entertainment Centre premises ( this license DOES NOT allow you to Manufacture, Supply, Install, Adapt, Maintain & Repair a gaming machine or part of a gaming machine. You are not allowed to repair your own machines either, you ARE NOT allowed to sell machines to anyone other than trading them in for newer equipment ) NB you can update to an FEC Linked Licence that allows you to repair your own machines, but it does not allow you to supply machines. 4. AGC Licence: To operate an Adult Gaming Centre Premises, ( this license DOES NOT allow you to Manufacture, Supply, Install, Adapt, Maintain & Repair a gaming machine or part of a gaming machine. You are not allowed to repair your own machines either , you ARE NOT allowed to sell machines to anyone other than trading them in for newer equipment ) NB you can update to an AGC Linked Licence that allows you to repair your own machines, but it does not allow you to supply machines. 5. You can add on an operating license to both FEC & AGC licenses at an extra cost , ( but as standard they do not allow you to do the supply machines part ) 6. You CAN NOT act as an agent or a salesperson for a company that holds an operating licence, unless you hold an operators licence yourself. 7. You CAN NOT offer a repair service for gaming machines or parts from gaming machines , without holding an operating licence. 8. You are able to obtain a permit to sell gaming machines ( one off licence ) which allows you to sell legally, after speaking to the commission they said “ You can obtain 2 permits per year ,per person, if you apply for a third permit the commission will treat you as requiring an operating licence, all transactions are monitored & logged” 9. For Home Use only: This has been seen on a lot of social media sites, making the sellers think if they use this they are exempt from any issues, this is fiction, If you are selling gaming machines, you either need a permit to sell up to 2 per year or you need an operating licence, this is a fact. 10. The gambling commission have very little interest in Pre Legacy machines, there`s a large following of collectors & enthusiasts out there that collect machines from the early 1900`s to the early electronic machines from the 70`s, 80`s & 90`s & we will also see that people want the stuff from the 2000`s soon also, although these machines are clearly a gaming machine, they normally end up in collectors own collections ,these do change hands but normally to other collectors, again if you are buying & selling more than 2 of these for commercial gain you will need an operating licence, if you are operating these in an arcade or premises again for commercial gain, you will need either an FEC or AGC licence. 11. Finally all relevant information is on the Gambling commissions website, not understanding gambling laws is not a get out of jail card, if you don’t understand something, you need to speak to someone who does, Debbie Bollard is an independent Gaming Licence specialist please consult her if you require any help, Debbie`s details are here: Debbie Bollard Licensing Consultant Hough & Bollard Ltd. 21. Good call Ian. If it were me,I'd consider 30 years old + lol. That's when fruity's went from being about amusement to being about gambling. So everything under £4.80 jackpot I'd say. Everything with smaller jp than that wouldn't be commercially viable for arcade owners tbh.
