  1. The original paper/card bands were coated to protect the symbols from being cleaned off but, over the years the coating has degraded and now many bands just stain even more rather than clean them. In BF it was just furniture polish to clean them if still in great condition but most times they were simply removed and replaced with new. If anyone is making reel bands, I have been contacted by a collector with a Nudge Gambler looking for a new set?

  7. More nice work and always a learning curve .I dont think you will be able to clean the paper/card bands dave .Best thing to do is to get a new set printed on acetate type material or high quality print paper and laminate .im sure one or two people on here have attempted to reproduce the super nudge gambler and nudge gambler bands so the pattern for the fruit symbols may be in the files somewhere.

  8. Noticed the possible wear on this bearing too because the drive cog has been rubbing the casing.

  10. Gearbox stripped and cleaned. Another lesson learned - READ RON'S THREADS CAREFULLY!! Unfortunately I didn't and removed the main shaft and subsequently lost the rollers from the needle bearing. One on order for delivery Thursday then will be replaced, greased and reassembled.
