  2. The bar problem could be the result of a jackpot control switch, Both Bell Fruit and JPM used it to control jackpot % payout on club electro's. although yours is just a three reel machine I still suspect some sort of similar system. JPM clubbers I have worked on were four reels and the jackpot control was on reel two the same as the Bell Fruit club electro but both worked with the same result. On a JPM its one of the scrambler switches when switched by the cam supplies an on/off circuit to a set of reel board studs usually just before and where the bar symbol would be on the win line, from there the circuit is sent to the reel index solenoid. if the switch is active as the bar reaches the win line, the circuit keeps the solenoid activated just long enough for the bar to be skipped past the win line so once the wipers are past the "live" studs the deactivates the circuit and the solenoid drops. If not activated then if the bar will land on the win line as it should. The jackpot control as it's known will bring the number of jackpot wins down by this skipping affect. On a four reel machine where not only four of a kind but three of a kind from left to right and right to left pay not only the jackpot but some of the higher wins. with the control on reel two, it then controls the jackpot symbol on that reel via reel two solenoid so basically has control on the four reel and three reel jackpot win lines.

  3. Unfortunately not Baz. Whatever he did have was either in his head or on one of his many computers (which are with his family now). I have asked that in time I can have access to the software and files on them, but that may or may not ever happen. I have implored them not to throw them away and they have assured me that they won't so fingers crossed.

  4. GOTCHA! It's mounted on the reel mech, at the motor end. It's a single-cam controller, running while the first reel is turning. It powers the solenoid when the BAR is near the win line, just as described. The other machine doesn't have it. There are other differences between the two. On this one, you can gamble the Joker win; on the other it pays out what it stops on. On the whole, its come out very well. Next up, a JPM four-reeler, Super CHANCE. (It's a big brute)...
