  3. I've just done a good deal for 500 ten-bob bits, so, seeing as this is a known and well-liked clubber, I'm going to give it some further attention. I can't work out how the winline has moved entirely below the line on the glass. I suppose that the notches on the payout discs could have worn half-a-stop further on, over the years, but that would surely stop it paying out properly. Perhaps it DOESN'T pay out properly...

  4. Because of isues some people were having with the GC we restricted it to 100 posts users to keep it under the radar. You also need to have donated in the last 2 years

  6. GOTCHA! It's mounted on the reel mech, at the motor end. It's a single-cam controller, running while the first reel is turning. It powers the solenoid when the BAR is near the win line, just as described. The other machine doesn't have it. There are other differences between the two. On this one, you can gamble the Joker win; on the other it pays out what it stops on. On the whole, its come out very well. Next up, a JPM four-reeler, Super CHANCE. (It's a big brute)...

  8. No, the fire was from below. The timer for the any-position Joker feature is directly below it. It's a face-plate timer with a single cam and microswitch. One of the wires into the microswitch is completely burned away, and the switch itself is just a distorted hollow shell. A long-term overload must have eventually set it alight. It may have been a blessing in disguise. The machine looks to have been shoved into the store room and left as a dead loss. There's nothing missing, no wrong-coin mods, no artwork 'upgrades'. The reel-motor gear case was gaping open, but the bolts were still in, just slack. I've tightened them all up, and it runs. Amazingly, the fire-damaged main controller has cleaned-up nicely, and it too runs. The acceptors are dry, but touching the 'coin in' wire gives you two games. No pay-outs yet, but it's early days.

  10. APOLLO is now on my wants list! Did 'interceptor' ever appear, or did micro-processors intervene?
