  2. Start with the easy stuff... take all the cards out and clean the edge connectors and remove any socketed chips, clean their pins with fine sandpaper and refit them.

  4. As they are both 240vac, depending on fittings. Will the coil swop over from the new to the old one?

  7. No don't try to file the connectors down, they are thinner as well as wider and at best you will push the wipers open in the socket. What is wrong with the old relay, open winding ? Try to transfer the guts would be the best bet or find the actual replacements.
