  1. Its been a while since I've posted a thread on here so thought I'd post my latest project which if I'm honest I never thought I'd see happen . About 2.5 years ago I bagged a very dilapidated associated leisure games "lucky nudge " it runs on barcrest mpu1 tech but uses a electro style deck with driver board. I knew when I got it that it was only for spares as it really was the worst cab I've ever seen and also the bottom glass was completely shot having been left in wet damp conditions for many years from what I can gather. Luckily I didn't pay a great deal for it ! I love these AL games that they built in thier own cabs and used thier own fruit symbols too which I remember so well as a kid playing .I also own a big apple which is in fairly good condition.,anyway another mecca member called funfair Wayne built a new mps cab from scratch and what a brilliant job he did too of it .so I decided to chance my luck and asked him if he fancied a challenge and build me a new cab for lucky nudge , and to my surprise he agreed to do it !so here is a pictorial thread with a couple of vids showing progress and how the new cab was built by Wayne, how the original cab was and the clean up of components that I did .on top of all this ron 74 agreed to strip the deck and refurbish it .this just left the small matter of reproducing the bottom glass and yet again I was very lucky to know a mecca member who agreed to redraw the glass .Once this is done I will take it to a print place for the final peice of the jigsaw. So here is the project .thought I'd get a good head start before showing progress so there is quite a lot to show .

  2. I broke a Nudge Gambler which had a bad payout solenoid fire. Reels damaged, glass was already badly faded but fire damaged but I salvaged parts to repair mine but even so it was not nice breaking it.

  3. Next up was to fit the tube holders and coin slides plus tubes ,refill switch and token meter . I've now also fitted the newly refurbished psu and internal on/off unit power supply to the psu .the tube ballast was in a state so I've luckily got another which is being tidied up which I will pop in but for now I've fitted the original. The starters have been fitted in too .more cable clips were put in too .unfortunately this is as far as ive got as work called as usual .the tube light loom needs attention as two wires have come adrift which I'll sort in the next day or two .I can then hopefully test the tube s to see them working or not !๐Ÿ˜ฌ more pictures as and when there's more to show !oh nearly forgot to say massive thanks to Rob tovey for the new.labels he remade and printed inc new cointube level strips too .they make all the difference to me and I've Laminated them.all.the electric sticker is vinyl as I had a few made up a few years ago .

  4. Next was to fit the side wood strips which again I told Wayne I'd do .new wood was purchased and cut to requirement s and sprayed matt black .just the one picture showing the new strip but they were done both sides to the bottom. Next was to fit the loom under newly fitted mechs and also to sort the cash gamble buttons out . All flexi hoses and coin manifolds were then fitted .unfortunately the original green coloured hoses were cracked and brittle and couldn't really be reused so had to sort out some better hosing .unfortunately I've used two different coloured types of hose which doesn't look too bad but if I get any original green hosing I'll fit those in the future .I've included a picture of the originals as well .

  11. Ok so first I'll show you the original cab .it doesn't really show you how bad the base was but the chip board was.badly shredded or expanded due to damp .everything internally had a layer of rust on .I'm surprised i got it into the boot in one piece as a lot of the doweling had come apart or gone rotten !

  14. Ok, so heres the news. A gem on here by the name of mavroz has tested my board and rom set. He spotted details on the board that were knacered, that i could not see with my untrained eye.But the rom set seem fine. So will buy a working board with guarentee and see how it goes. Mavroz, you are a legend.. Many thanks indeed. regard Andy
