  1. Just to close loop on this Bob found it was simply a dry joint on the alpha serial port all working well again 🙂

  2. 110V step down transformers are relatively common as they're used for lighting and power tools on building sites. if you can use one in reverse as a step up transformer it would be a straightforward and not too expensive solution. Good luck.

  3. Well seems its the board, swapped MPU3 and fault gone ! I tried a different alpha, new cable and cleaned pins on MPU3 all to no avail. 🥲

  4. Right quick update just checked all the wires and had an odd voltage reading fluctuating at the alpha itself so I removed the connection from the MPU and cleaned each pin but then on reconnecting I had no alpha at all! Disaster ☹️ So I continuity checked and seemed to have a dodgy connection on the negative at the MPU3 end, I reconnected this time pushing the cables themselves in after plugging in the white connection and hey presto it’s working again! Had a few goes can’t get the fault again but we shall see tomorrow. Could it be that simple just a cable fault again! ? I suppose at nearly 40 it’s inevitable eh.
