I guess JPM's fruit snappa/fruit chaser and frog it /frog hop would be early 80s - both started as £2 jackpots then changed to £3 along with a change of name, can't remember which way round though1 point

Thanks a lot for your help. I make some tries with the wire 43 and will come back. About the hold selector timer, if forcing turn until the red plate free the switch, I get every times hold button available. so I think too you are right. I will disassemble the bloc to see why the motor doesn’t turn. i keep you informed !1 point

You could double check all the cabling (notably on reel 1 back to MPU) but as the fault is staying with reel 1 wiring it would point to MPU I'm afraid.1 point

looking at the picture of your gamble feature timer, I don't have a schematic for your machine but I do own it's predecessor, Each Way Treble. Although there are many differences the gamble timer wiring is the same. On your timer, switch 43 the blue wire will brown hoops is on the wrong connector at the top of the switch, it need to be on the middle connector of the same switch. the rest match identical to mine.1 point

Thats no good you need to swap the working loom over between the 2 reels (we are trying to eliminate if the reel is at fault) - those are the later reels (no t bar) - if you follow the cabling back from each reel you will see they all connect via edge-type connectors, simply turn the machine off, swap the faulty one with reel 2 and then see what happens. I have had several similar issues on S6 and I just replace the reel. See pic to help this shows the wiring loom I am talking about and the connector.1 point

About the ´ hold selector ´ ( photo attached ) : there is always 50v on the motor power. But it never turns ? i présume this motor is dead ?1 point

Hi everybody from Switzerland ! I duplicated my post from the introduction section, as I'm not sure if you will answer to it in this introduction section.... Around 40 years ago, I bought a Bell-Fruit manufacturing "Eachway Trebble Deluxe". After years and years stored unused, I'm wanting to restore this machine today. And as you imagine, I don't have any documentation or knowledge in this (except that I have a formation in electronic/electricity....) I finally found this forum, that seems to be the only place where to gather some help about old fruit machines. Initial problem was that nothing was working..... After unjamming an electro-magnet that lock the reel, and repluging a cable that was disconnected, it works. Now, I can feed money, and counter increases. And if I press the handle, the reels starts spinning, and then stop one after earch other. But the "hold" buttons never blink. All features set seems to be disabled! Do you have any clues about what I should check? Do you know what is the big bloc on the door (see picture), with a graduated wheel (0 to 360) ? The main timer seems to work (the red wheel in the first picture, in middle of all) But if this big bloc on the door should be a timer too, I didn't hear any noise from it..... Thanks for you help !1 point

Yeah, I’ve always thought of boards as either progressive (you climb/progress to a maximum) or lapping (‘round and round’ adding to cash/nudge/features/shots etc)1 point

All depends what you class as a feature board. I’d argue that the first true feature board was Maygay’s Monopoly. J1 point

I presumed zippy meant a 'lapping' feature board rather than progressive, if so what do you recon then Ron? I was thinking in club machine world maybe cops and robbers? I know thats not a 3 reeler. My personal recollection on a 3 reeler was maybe Maygay's Eastenders lol! seems far too new though in relation to machines there must be an earlier lapping board?1 point

I would say the nearest to using a feature board first was Barcrest with Adders and Ladders in 19821 point

I love working on the old MPU3 clubbers, they are such quality machines build-wise compared to so much of the later stuff (some early MPU4 clubbers also v good). Just look how white the plastic is and not a single broken bulb holder! 40 years old ! incredible me thinks. Even the glass artwork is pretty hardy. They sure don't make em like they used to lol..... ps - we wont mention the MPU3 connections mind you 😬1 point
