  1. One very dirty machine but such a lucky find on my doorstep too! Had been in the same house for way over 25 years maybe more! Iโ€™ll post once refurbished and up and running ๐Ÿ˜Š looks an interesting machine too.

  2. All the PSUs I've repaired have had a few dry joints, plus the odd dodgy fuse holder. If any fuses blow with no load connected then the related bridge rectifier will need replacing.

  3. I think replacing the two big capacitors in the PSU should cure that. There's also a couple more on the small board inside the MPU4 case that you can replace as well.

  4. Hi, Been registered on here for a while and realised I'd not been here Worked in the industry for a long time but tried to avoid machines away from work! Now retired I'm more into emulation, in particular video stuff from Bell Fruit and contribute to the MAME project when I can. Got a pinball and table top space invaders which I can waste hours playing Currently trying to resurrect a Bell Fruit Top Of The Pops SWP which is in far worse condition than I'd first been told..it came complete with a small dead body in the bottom and lots of droppings ! It's not looking pretty at the moment!

  6. I had a bit more time today so I decided to do a test on what actually worked - and I am delighted to find everything works apart from the PSU which has a fault where as soon as the reels try and spin they literally judder then loops back to INI. That should be easy to sort slower time ๐Ÿ‘

  9. Quick update Iโ€™ve just finished stripped the metalwork off to go to the powedercoaters on Monday. The glass has come up well, scratch free but has got some signs of artwork imperfections but itโ€™s very very minor and just on the very edge (mainly some mirror sections), like I say very minor (Iโ€™m being really anal!). I tested the MPU4 after cleaning it and BOOM it works ! Incredible. Reelbands all good - reel 1 has some lifting at the joint but no damage. Plenty more to do ๐Ÿ˜Š Questions/opinions - re-coat frames original brown colour or go with the slightly later silver? Iโ€™m thinking keep it original - brown? But I do prefer silverโ€ฆ. Decision decisions!

  10. Whats this button for then? I noticed a blank next to the 3 central buttons and this must be why - is there really a 20p stake option on this 5p a go game, anyone know? I cant wait to play it but will be a while - the machine has a distinct smell of booze and fags and little mice have been present at some point (but no damage thank god!) - its the worse in terms of grime I have yet come across, BUT I quite like that it adds to the genuine nature of a long time standing machine, very very original. There is a small cabinet repair bottom right but I have that on my Lucky Strike too so I wonder what happened, theft maybe?
