  4. Gotta be a rom change then mart .also you may have to change the links in your cart so pictures of other people s carts will be required .make sure you keep a pictorial record of how your rom cart is arranged before you make any changes ...if any !

  5. I had a couple of MPU3 boards testing today so I thought I'd investigate the 5 plays or 1 play and 4 coins from a 50p. I had a sneaking suspicion that it can be done and I was right! The dip switch, as already mentioned is bank 2 switch 3 on but it's not as straightforward as that. I think you may find it also has to do with how the coin tube switches are set. This is what you'll need to experiment with but on mine the right hand 50p coin tube has been tape'd over so the coin level switch is operated. As there's no coins in the tube (either tube actually as I only have one old 50p) normally the switch would be open. I haven't looked at the other tubes so it could be a combination of switches but I think you'll find that's what does it. Once you have then the dip switch controls that feature, odd it's not mentioned in the settings sheet?

  8. What a beautiful machine and really brings back memories, I never liked these clubbers or the MPU4 ones but are such a wonder just to set eyes on a picture. Hope your project turns out 100% as you are in great hands on The Mecca.

  9. Great little project mart and glad you are giving the old girl the treatment she deserves .the 20p stake button is a rarity to see thats for sure .might be worth checking to see if the roms have been dumped on here but id say they haven't. Id also keep the original frame colour if you can as only multiplay out of all the mpu4 80s clubbers had that colour of frame.

  10. I had a bit more time today so I decided to do a test on what actually worked - and I am delighted to find everything works apart from the PSU which has a fault where as soon as the reels try and spin they literally judder then loops back to INI. That should be easy to sort slower time ๐Ÿ‘

  11. Quick update Iโ€™ve just finished stripped the metalwork off to go to the powedercoaters on Monday. The glass has come up well, scratch free but has got some signs of artwork imperfections but itโ€™s very very minor and just on the very edge (mainly some mirror sections), like I say very minor (Iโ€™m being really anal!). I tested the MPU4 after cleaning it and BOOM it works ! Incredible. Reelbands all good - reel 1 has some lifting at the joint but no damage. Plenty more to do ๐Ÿ˜Š Questions/opinions - re-coat frames original brown colour or go with the slightly later silver? Iโ€™m thinking keep it original - brown? But I do prefer silverโ€ฆ. Decision decisions!
