  1. Received a message from Frank for the forum.... Hi guys, I know I have to finish the history but I have had to look for a new employment. Unfortunately the Williams formula one team took my previous employer for a few quid, like Ā£30 million. I didn't want to wait around, and to be honest they just may brave the storm but I wasn't ready to sit back and be thrown on the scrapheap as I am not ready to put my feet up. I have a new task as Project manager to develop 17 acres of development land and 3 WWII Aircraft hangars so that should see me through to retirement. Promise to come back. Regards to all, best wishes, stay safe!

  3. Ahh that's nothing... no C bombs dropped years gone by.. its progress lol. If you don't know how watch a few vids on you tube on transistor testing (diode test) with a meter. Absolutely no one has a clue when the first look at schematics if you don't know what you're doing the target is to spend a week or so becoming familiar with the hopper driving area. Treat it as a fun problem to solve and not a ball ache and just aim to become an expert in that area and you will fix it mate I guarantee. If you don't it's probably 5 or 6 new things learned put it to one side and come back to it later fresh.

  4. come on boys we're grown men with big toys that need fixing hence the forum , i appreciate any replies and take all advice on board .... i find ( like most people ) that process of elimination and cheapest option first is the best way to approach these things google can sometimes be your worst enemy in research ie different board issues , do they have different processors, trying to find out if there is a difference between clubbers and a standard 3 reeler , are they programmed for different reasons ,,,,,,,etc i'll be honest i aint got the brains to study schematics but ive been trying to , having a go at something that's already broken isn't gonna harm your replies have given me inspiration to get stuck in so its a credit to you both ........life's too short to take things to heart. thanks guys..

  6. If that was aimed at me, tell us all what the fault is and the reason behind it is? Help him fix the board? What wisdom do you have on fixing it lol? I'd like to hear it. When helping people out with repairs you have to run through the process...some times that means testing the obvious or counter testing parts elsewhere. At the time you said board fault... granted. I said chuck it in another machine to nail it 110% to the board. Nothing wrong with that. At the time it wasn't proved for certain. I was trying to rule out wiring and rot issues on the crimps... which effects tons of scorp4s. Had that myself and helped a forum member with issues like this a few weeks ago. I lost interest because of the wives tales... I can't be arsed to convince people there aren't different boards for different games etc I'm too busy. In terms of fixing the board I couldn't help further, it's just guess work for everyone across a forum and clutching at straws unless they've had the exact same component failure which I haven't yet myself...apologies. If you're serious about repairing it everything needs to be tested all the way back up from the output pins or study schematics, you can make educated guesses or block replace components. That's how you approach it. It's a bit like asking why an epoch alpha display doesn't work, why an m1 resets etc. No one can tell you 100% you have to test and work through it yourself. That might sound blunt but it's true. Feel free to post what your doing or asking how to test components etc your might get more help like that mate. Unless Generation can solve it for you LMAO šŸ˜‰

  9. Indeed a great read. JPM was also iconic in the Netherlands! I believe JPM stands for: Jones Playing Machines.
