  2. Right I'm into the machine! Luckily the old flat key locks are a breeze to break into! I'll say no more on that subject 🤣 Anyway, first job as always was to check MPU4, so took it out removed board and the battery was on and looked like the a change by Barcrest on the label in 1998! that likely means the machine was in service into the 2000's (maybe longer) which matches the 20yrs+ stored in their cupboard - dry stored such a treat as the glass shows no artwork issues at all! I recon I have had another lucky escape, MPU4 looks good. I have given it a neutralise clean and bath to be sure but as the 2 pics show the tracks look OK so hopefully will fire up on first try once fully dried. Fingers crossed! All original paperwork is present but no other decals, but I am delighted as Nick said above its on the best stake anyway 20p/£150. Rest of machine looks tidy, dry and not too dirty surprisingly! I am hopeful it will work first try, Will keep you posted. I have only found a quid mind you, an old one at that lol - thought there maybe a bit more in as the keys were lost but for £50 I am not complaining

  3. The search facility on this site has always been god awful. Its a shame too as so many important useful documents and resources aren't being used and utilised Good luck sorting your machine

  4. £50 bargain just picked it up await to see what she’s like inside but I recon should be ok. Was destined for the skip so another saved! No keys annoyingly. Stood in a club storeroom in London for many many years!

  5. My latest project is a novelty egg vending machine. Looks like the ROM is missing so Unless I can get a copy of the rom, this clown could end up scrap. Can anyone help save a clown and find the rom file please? Can’t say I remember ever seeing one in an arcade.

  8. Great find and repair job, especially as they would have skipped it! That would have been a terrible waste. I too wouldn't mind seeing a video of this in action.

  9. I cleared a stuck coin in same type of hopper but in a real machine, 2 coins got stuck side by side in the opto, it just worked after I cleared it

  11. Not sure which came first, the “G” for George or this “Autoplay”. I toyed with swapping out the Autoplay button with a green “George” button, but decided it would be better to keep it original 👍 I like the game play on this, quite a bit going on. I think you will prefer it to the “Kings & Queens” machine. Enjoy 👍

  12. I'm going to pop a spare MOD2 in and see Nick 🤞 Cheers yeah hopefully - its a machine I have never ever played in the wild so I am also really looking forward to playing it. Had a watch of a few vids but as coke used to say "you can't beat the real thing" lol wonder why they dropped "G for george" on this one? just says autoplay or was it dropped before?

  13. Lucky indeed! 🍀👍 That board looks in very good condition considering the battery has been on it all these years. For some reason the blue vartas always seem to “weather” better than the green or whites. Another good pick-up Martin, all the best with the restoration, look forward to seeing the progress and the finished article, including any tips along the way for us fellow restorers / collectors 👍
