  1. Good shout! Why is the autopilot named George? The etymology of the nickname is unclear: some claim it is a reference to inventor George De Beeson, who patented an autopilot in the 1930s, while others claim that Royal Air Force pilots coined the term during World War II to symbolize that their aircraft technically belonged to King George VI.

  2. After 2 yrs searching I finally secured the final part required to complete this conversion (bottom glass) many thanks to the donor. I believe this may have been converted in the past, coin plate sticker gives it away lol. Just got to sort the coin plate sticker and its good to go, ive scanned the Rodstock and barcrest stickers if there useful to anyone, they could possibly benefit from someone better than me with photoshop to touch the black up and reinstate the 2p on the Rodstock one. Hope there useful cheers Tony

  4. Picked this beauty up but way out of my comfort zone (being Barcrest MPU3/4) - System 5! yikes! Don't suppose anyone has a manual for this machine, or did one even exist showing the dip settings and how to set things etc? Must admit not looked much yet apart from she works! Cheers all, Martin

  5. I’ve an old friend in the industry who told me a bit about the board. I think he said he used to have the elephant version which sucked the egg up its trunk using a reverse hair dryer, then dropped it down to the win tray. He said it used the same board and told me the pots were to set volume of play, attract volume and frequency of attract. I can only really remember the parrot and the chicken. I guess these control boards could have been adapted for allsorts. Wonder if the clown on a rocking chair is the same as the one in Blackpool pleasure beach (sorry if this gives you nightmares)… https://youtu.be/sv6FhLg5_e4 I think they change it to a policeman. Not my video but it was still there when I went this year. It is quite freaky, but I think I’d be playing all the pushers and fruit machines if I had a lock in

  6. You can, but have you seen the price of these hoppers in the uk today? About £60. They are on German Ebay for about £10, but no one will ship to uk, since Brexit! Maggi have agreed to fix the hopper under warranty, so that's good.

  8. I haven’t seen the roms. Looking at the mainboard the machine was named Punch and Judy. I love these old, almost scary amusements. I remember in a local arcade had this hideous rather large attraction. It was a laughing clown on a rocking chair and pretty sure he had custard pies in his hands, always freaked me out. I always imagine being left in the arcade at night with this thing!!! Stuff of nightmares for sure J

  12. I can fine tune the reel spins later (thanks for the feed back). In the meantime, I've been working on the top panel and the nudge stuff. Also, I've introduced the camera a bit more considering it's 3D and all. So, the camera can move to the focus of what's going on; in this example, the nudge option starts. I've also added some code for looking at the mouse pointer in the 3D world (the cube you see moving about). This will be so you can interact with the sim in 3D with the mouse instead of keyboard (and later maybe VR).

  13. I know on a system 80 game I had called Piggybank, I wired a relay to the win lamp with the contacts connected to the gamble button. The poor machine won every gamble to jackpot and it did indeed reduce the winlines and features to reduce payout. It was funny as hell to see the desperation of the program kicking in to reduce the %
