  2. After 2 yrs searching I finally secured the final part required to complete this conversion (bottom glass) many thanks to the donor. I believe this may have been converted in the past, coin plate sticker gives it away lol. Just got to sort the coin plate sticker and its good to go, ive scanned the Rodstock and barcrest stickers if there useful to anyone, they could possibly benefit from someone better than me with photoshop to touch the black up and reinstate the 2p on the Rodstock one. Hope there useful cheers Tony

  4. Next up here is my 500th Fme release and it's back to the 90's for me with this revisted slot "supertwo" the sister machine of "TakeTwo" which i thing take two is better. I'll let you decide on that one. play em both side by side!!! The reason i've redone this as the earlier version i made was a tad small (1024) so found the original image i made up and relight it, making a few changes to the original layout thankyou goes to the original supplier of images @launton i think as he owed this machine before Steve Lancette had it what more can i say, other the Enjoy and Happy Gaming just like its 1991 Now i must push myself into making a new layout for the 501st Fme release Super Two Dx v2.zip

  6. I don't honestly know. Andrew96 would almost certainly say replace them like-for-like, but I think tantalum caps are overkill 99% of the time and electrolytics would be fine instead.

  7. Cheers Rob, I’ve got a few to work on now and no time atm to do anything! Still it’s all waiting for me when I can tinker again 😂 I’m already running out of room in my newly built space lol !! I recon you know that feeling tho I’ll post updates once refurbished and some play on it once I’m at that’s stage too.

  8. I’ve an old friend in the industry who told me a bit about the board. I think he said he used to have the elephant version which sucked the egg up its trunk using a reverse hair dryer, then dropped it down to the win tray. He said it used the same board and told me the pots were to set volume of play, attract volume and frequency of attract. I can only really remember the parrot and the chicken. I guess these control boards could have been adapted for allsorts. Wonder if the clown on a rocking chair is the same as the one in Blackpool pleasure beach (sorry if this gives you nightmares)… https://youtu.be/sv6FhLg5_e4 I think they change it to a policeman. Not my video but it was still there when I went this year. It is quite freaky, but I think I’d be playing all the pushers and fruit machines if I had a lock in

  11. Good shout! Why is the autopilot named George? The etymology of the nickname is unclear: some claim it is a reference to inventor George De Beeson, who patented an autopilot in the 1930s, while others claim that Royal Air Force pilots coined the term during World War II to symbolize that their aircraft technically belonged to King George VI.

  12. Lucky indeed! 🍀👍 That board looks in very good condition considering the battery has been on it all these years. For some reason the blue vartas always seem to “weather” better than the green or whites. Another good pick-up Martin, all the best with the restoration, look forward to seeing the progress and the finished article, including any tips along the way for us fellow restorers / collectors 👍

  13. Right I'm into the machine! Luckily the old flat key locks are a breeze to break into! I'll say no more on that subject 🤣 Anyway, first job as always was to check MPU4, so took it out removed board and the battery was on and looked like the a change by Barcrest on the label in 1998! that likely means the machine was in service into the 2000's (maybe longer) which matches the 20yrs+ stored in their cupboard - dry stored such a treat as the glass shows no artwork issues at all! I recon I have had another lucky escape, MPU4 looks good. I have given it a neutralise clean and bath to be sure but as the 2 pics show the tracks look OK so hopefully will fire up on first try once fully dried. Fingers crossed! All original paperwork is present but no other decals, but I am delighted as Nick said above its on the best stake anyway 20p/£150. Rest of machine looks tidy, dry and not too dirty surprisingly! I am hopeful it will work first try, Will keep you posted. I have only found a quid mind you, an old one at that lol - thought there maybe a bit more in as the keys were lost but for £50 I am not complaining
