  3. Hmm, with a diode test it depends whether it's a NPN or PNP transistor as to which way the leads go round. For example, with NPN, it's red probe on the base and black probe on the emitter and collector, the opposite for PNP. You should get about 0.6v ish on the meter. This will hovever depend on whether the transistor is in circuit or not. If it's in circuit then there maybe other paths the current can flow! Collector to emitter will probably show diode one way and nothing the other so 0.6v again. That's not Ohms though which is why I queried the .48 figure. Most of the power darlington transistors will have a protection diode across the collector emitter hence the reading one way and not the other. Hope that's useful.

  4. Another update . Found the photo that I took when the first IC got fried . Looks like the problem that time was on the other side of that IC . I'll need to see where that goes . More to follow ......

  6. Royal Exchange £50 MPU3 5p/£50 From my vault circa September 2003. I have kept my original notes on this release, so will show 2003 version 2007! Works best on the unofficial MFME v9.4 uses the RE 4.1 roms we have already. This release was held back because the roms wouldn't switch to £50 and there where timing problems on the last version of MPU3. Meters are OK, you can point and click and the usual shortcuts apply. Only known issue (within 9.4) is that button 24 (refill key) doesn't give the stats with back door open , but that's for the hardcore anyway! Also big thanks to Daren for the pics. I still love this machine! It may be boring and predicatble now, but when it came out it was an action packed clubber that the likes where never seen before. cheers wf. RoyalExchange50MPU3.zip
