  1. Slowly getting there now with the cab. More to follow later

  2. Some more cab work, There were loads of impact gouges in the cab. The original partical board was cratered up and material had fallen out. Had to all be filled, orbital sanded flat and I also used a resin to bind it all and give a glass like and totally solid finish. Looks shite in the picture but will become clear later on. The back edges were pretty buggered all around the cab so I routed a small 45' chamfer all around so every angle you look at it once it's done it will have a nice freshly machined edge (too much filler just falls out of edges). Also used resin on the partical board edges. You can also use watered down PVA glue and keep sanding it flat to re bond the open material too. Would show an after but can't remember where it was 🙂

  3. New T molding, This cab has really tight curves so cuts had to be made in the molding so it bends around. Used the old molding as a template. 2nd pic is a dry run with the new molding masking taped around. Left it a few days like this so when I come to glue it it's pre stressed to the right shape and I'm sure it will go in nicely. (Trying not to show to much)

  4. I was working on this quicktime in my lunch break so missed a few stage pics.(New material + trim to shape and new T molding slot cut ) Kept spraying it with primer so both sides of the joint can do all the expanding and cutting it back flat each time with sandpaper so you can't see a joint later. Here's the area (without showing too much lol)

  5. Can't really use filler as it's too big and the filler would just fall out. The plan: let new material into the cab and use a bearing guided cutter to run around the original shape. To do that I had to router it flat and then using a straight edge as a guide so I can let new material in. Set the router depth to exact thickness of my material (13mm). There a few chips there still but I wanted to keep my joint infront of the two concave curves

  6. Hi folks... here's an update on some of the cab work. This old girl was missing a chunk out of the cheek. The original shape was still there as it was the outer part missing.
