Ah ha found it. The transformer diagram is in the System 1000 manual and the diode is a TVS so it's a good job I didn't replace it with a standard diode (not that I was going to anyway). It's actually a 1.5KE24A which is also an SKE24A which is also a 1N6280A which matches up with the readable numbers on the device. Just got to source one now. The original appears to test OK but experience with TVS diodes on MPS2's shows that when corrosion gets in to the device they tend to go short circuit.

It doesn't have crimps though, it's an IDC (insulation displacement) connector. If it was mine I'd be replacing the IDC connector with a six way Molex header and crimp terminals.

Not sure what's happening here,but we are all in same boat,we all like machines we all want them working and we all have different skill levels interests and tools.some guys buy machines because of memories or just because they like the game,not everyone can strip and restore a machine.As for disabled people,I have worked with them for 17 years and they are intelligent,funny and have feelings as anyone does.

I think the red and green wires are the wrong way round...
