  3. Hi all, Not sure if this is the right forum or place to be, however I already see some interesting topics and maybe some people have been similar to myself. Im looking to pick up some old school fruitmachines over time, but short term I want to explore trying to set up some emulators at home to play and also show my boys. Hope im in the right place, no worries if not, just let me know. thanks in advance for the help

  4. I live in a seaside town and spent countless hours in arcades when I was younger so when the opportunity to own a 90's machine came up, I had to have it. I'm a tinkerer, so besides reliving part of my youth I was fascinated to know how it all worked. I bought a Global Games "Return of the Spotted Dick" fruit in full working order. It needs little odds and ends here and there but nothing that stops it being playable. I'm heading to the "Old Fruity" section now with a question about button inserts (if that's what they're called) - the part with the Start/Hold/Collect text on.

  6. at last! after getting the power supply checked out/reconditioned the fault continued end story is the black plug it into the back of the machine had been bent up inside. This was causing the problem. This was most probably done by moving the machine around most probably still plugged in and the wire got caught. Thanks for all your help and response. It’s great to know you guys are out there at the moment notice. I’m sure I’ll be back one day with another problem.

  7. Hi all. I am a huge star wars geek and in the last few years have been secretly squirrelling away star wars purchases that ive made without the wifes knowledge. We recently moved to a bigger house and my plan of attack was put into action. Ive taken over a room which now hosts a life size storm trooper on a mannequin, original kenner falcon and AT-AT as well as 3 force fx lightsabers. It was almost divorce but we got through it However, the last few months i just couldnt help but feel it was missing something. Then following a trip to a local reclamation yard, i got chatting to the owner and mentioned my love of all things star wars. He then took me into his storage warehouse where under a blanket was hidden a barcrest Horizon Star Wars New Hope fruit machine...... Needless to say, deal was struck and divorce could be back on the cards! However, this then leads me to my reason for joining your forum - im totally oblivious to the finer workings of fruit machines! I can build a pc with my eyes closed and can build arcade machines with ease as they are pc based. However, i almost fell over when i popped the lid on this Barcrest machine. Unfortunately, being left in a storage shed for over 10 years, the fruity doesnt work! Once my intro is done i will be posting much needed help requests!! Clarky

  8. Hi all, Daryl here, just letting you all know I'm alive (even though I can't hardly kick anymore)... It's been that long since I've been here, I lost the links and my password - had to do some delving to find them all! Hope you're all well, and some of my old friends are still going strong here Take care, Daryl x
