  4. I remember going a meet up there with a fantastic selection of units and great hospitality, there was that many units there was even a Ace Play It Again next to the kitchen table. Right where that RoadRunner is in the pic was a Barcrest Alphabet, I hadn't seen one for years and was just about to have an enjoyable sesh on it....until Skip Rat jumped on it before me and hammered it!

It's totally true, the hacks have been achieved by looking at multiple games hex files and spotting difference, changing it byte byte and then running them, the first brake through was made by being able to turn off the chk sum, thats basically to checks that the file hasn't been changed as mentioned above. It's done via trial and error in the emulator firstly to check the roms still boot and secondly to see what effect the code alteration is. You can use software to virtually decompile software, but it won't give you the original code, but its still no use, because you can't then recompile and use it on a game because it's a computer interpretion of what the code may look like. If it was as simple as decompiling people would have got roms and been able to predict the machines behaviour, you'd literally be able to see it in the code. I
