  3. Many don't. Many now buy or are given a machine that doesn't work and need instant repair advice to flip the machine asap for a bit of profit. There are not many new genuine machine collectors and enthusiasts left that come along, not to the extent there were 15+years ago anyway. The Mecca is pretty much silent to what it was with business, help being conducted privately (mostly) on other platforms or personally. I think these days you will be hard pushed to get a new member pretty much starting from scratch who is building a collection of 80's and 90's machines, probably due to it being a generation thing and many of us from "back in the day" are much older, have been there, done it etc etc. Over the years, myself, i have had many, many machines, these have been whittled down to 3 now, which in all honesty i have not switched on in weeks, maybe months as my love and passion for "real" machines and repairs etc has waned over the years, especially the last 4 or 5. this includes moving on all the "spare" parts i had gathered and collected, never realising how many i actually had. I still play around with emulation, which similar to real machines attracts those who wish to have a quick play with machines they have remembered expense free and those who unfortunately want to turn a profit from other peoples work in creating the machines. I won't say that real machine collecting (not the new crap) is dead but it is far from what it used to be and those of us who still enjoy the hobby both real and emulated keep ourselves to ourselves more and more.... Thankfully fruit machine emulation is still there for the time being with lots and lots of machines still to be remade and relived.

  9. No, not myself and certainly not others never stopped me enjoying. The enjoyment just went, it stopped, the hobby became tedious. Now I just make beer. 🤣
