  6. That looks quite poorly. I don’t think I can diagnose that from here and you may need to send the board and disk drive to me to see what is needed. sorry to sound like a salesman but those boards aren’t the easiest to fault find on.

  8. First thing. plug the dongle in an upload a video of the boot sequence just front of the MPU and floppy drive for now (I don’t need to see the screen at this point). did the machine come with just one disk or are there others?

  9. I am right with you there Phil 😇 Great work, well done - looks to be a classic list of repair items there on these old MPU4's, same as on most I come across too. There is just is not much about atm so I have switched to the darkside for now and I am buying a fewer newer/cheaper machines to scratch the itch 🤐 ...but moms the word on that front

  10. It was much better when it was good old section 16 and Rainbow Riches, Elvis and Monty Python were king back then. I still recon Monty Python would prob be my personal fave. This is too new for ye old mecca, we now have to go and be lashed outside the local town hall dont you know 🤣

  12. @Road Runner is the guy for that. What bit I knew I've forgotten unfortunately. One thing I have spotted on the photos is there's no cartridge plugged into the socket on the front RHS of the board. It won't boot without that...

  13. Bottom left there are 16 diodes. Above them are 16 transistor. Above them are 2 chip like Dil resistor banks. What value is the Dil resistors? Above them are 2 ls259 chips. All these comments drive the reels so any could be faulty. Also the machine side loom suffers breaks in the wire at the plug to the mpu. But the black insulation can hide problems.
