  2. Hi all.decided to do a thread on this,Alan (Road runner) has very kindly offered to test my floppy drive and mpu so many thanks indeed. The cab is a bit rickety so I have I have opened top se tion and glued dowel pegs then sash clamped, the metal bar at bottom of rear door was upside down so removed and resecured using new screws with wood glue to increase strength. Filled some holes in rear under opening door where it was damaged.re fastened the 2 thin wood rails behind back door as they were partly prized off.getting new locks for rear door as one missing and other wrong size so it has a lot of movement and I like a good snug fit.also adding anti spin rings to locks as they are also missing.next will be making a new false base with new nylon feet as that leaves a mess everytime you move it.this will also add to the sturdiness of the cab.

  3. Collected this ACE conversion from Scarborough on Sunday. A decimal darts-themed game based on a pre-decimal ACE such as Monte Carlo or similar. The lights came on immediately, which is always a good sign. Freeing-off the game timer led to the reels running and stopping correctly; no clutch troubles here. HOLD came to life after a while, and occasional payouts were made. The reel deck contacts will be receiving attention next. There is a darts feature, with flashing scores of 2-4-6-8-10. Changing some bulbs plus a bit of freeing-off has seen this back in action. It appears to be skill, too. ALL of the reel symbols are numbers, on different coloured circles. The feature starts with the darts symbols in any position. There are NO Mills-type fruits on this machine. I'll try and work out how to post some pictures...

  4. I very good job on the base there. it’s my least favourite part of any restoration as that’s where machines tend to have seen the most wear and tear.

  6. Main issue is the feet have gone missing and the base is being pulled apart.there are 3 rusty screws each side that are not doing much,so I have brushed wood glue deep into the wood to seal it and clamped till dry.then I will add new wood each side and fit new screws slightly higher up on sides and up from underside into the sides.then add my new nylon glides.this should make it solid and prevent further wear.the monitor was filthy and has cleaned up a treat.

Printed out a copy of the manual too, very handy for setting up as I wanted with the £10/£15/£25 paytable at 30p play and 88% It's a bit happy from a reset but settling down now after a few hundred through it Huge thanks to all involved!! https://youtu.be/eyiTNldPB6Y (Still looking for metalwork and reel bands if anyone has any )
