Now mpu and floppy fitted that roadrunner kindly tested and repaired.decided to refit refill switch as the hole was taped over,but wires are there so waiting for that as easier to fit with monitor out..also ordered mpu battery both from swallow.he is good.locks for back door were wrong,I ordered 25mm and got 18mm so don't even protrude from other side.so re ordered from elsewhere. At least now it's easy to move and don't leave a wood dust trail.im looking forward to see what happens when turned on.also checked all bulbs and switches today..

I have not done the 128k games, they appear more complex, so back when I was doing this, I focused on the most common machines, Barcrest MPU3/4. As @martinb says, the Chr chip aren't inherently unreliable (though they are getting pretty old now!), it's usually the case that they get lost, or someone tries to read them in a chip reader (as they have internal 'fuses', that were designed in to prevent easy reverse engineering). So don't lose it or try to read it in a chip reader, and you'll very likely be ok for many years! Edit: also tagging @martin_w_007 - nice to see another '007' in the wild!

No apparently not,a couple of chips,the disc is OK and floppy works but I think Alan has cleaned it.The mpu is very clean.he also fitted new fly leads.

One side done and semi blended now doing other.
