I'd be really interested to see if someone has the know how to work this out. I've never been able to find where the checksum code is and never managed to find any hints on line to locate it either.2 points

Merge roms and disassemble When the Special Series machine is running in the emulator, when you open the debug page under main board you can see the rom program running in memory with the various assembler code commands being run. These scroll up and down the page at the emulator executes the commands. The roms that I have downloaded need to be merged in to one file to make the disassembly simpler. This is done by the following dos command to join the two files in the right order as one: "Copy /b SPIS9F.P2 + SPIS9F.P1 SPIS9F.BIN" This command created a singular file SPIS9F.BIN that I loaded in to the emulator to check. All was fine. The MPU3 uses a Motorola 6800 processor. I found that a good disassembler is a program called f9dasm.exe that is open source from Github, https://github.com/Arakula/f9dasm I attach an executable copy for ease. The command I used to disassemble the rom is: "F9dasm -offset 6000 spls9f.bin > spls9f2.txt" This disassembles the rom file and stores the output in to the TXT file. File is as attached and you will see the memory addresses from the emulator debug page that aligns with the sequence of assembler code in the txt file. I used the -offset of 6000 to align the memory addresses. Now we need to try to find the checksum routine to allow changes to be made to the code, then to find the code for the auto collect on the roulette gamble. The routine for the gamble auto collect can be found by running the emulator and try to pause the code when the routine happens and try to understand what the code is doing. To move this on will be trial and error for me, so any help now for experienced programmers or rom hackers would be appreciated to move this forward 🙂 f9dasm.zip spls9f2.txt spls9f.zip2 points

Will you be tempted to take a bite for the Apple, but be careful not to get bit by the serpent snake!!! Its Club Temptation by Bfm Thanks goto @Reg - for his previous dx used for lamping/reel band references etc @infection - images of which i think he got from @martinb via here (hope i've done it proud, any more stuff most welcome) @fruitsnappa - configuration help with the stake/prize refill checkboxs etc. Orange symbol cut from youtube screenshot so not perfect but looks like the original The layouts, there's three in one file all set to 84%, you can change the percentage via dips 678 on bank 2 (all labelled) from 72-90% £250/30p - using the roms supplied via reg's dx £500/30p - roms no- 95403257/8 And the mighty £1000jp on 30p - roms no- 95402257/8, so probably earlier set than the £500?? the 500/1000 started from factory ram reset so will probably take a age to jackpot, so happy rams most welcome. Shortcuts written within the notes on all three Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!! Club Temptation Dx's.zip1 point

Hi Paul, If you have different special circle roms with the £50 and 5p play, can you post them here and I can compare them to the ones that are with the emulator. They also can be checked on the emulator to see if the gamble block is there. The roms with the emulator are not marked with a version but do have a block. On the special series roms, the ones I posted are the later ones with the 50p for 5 credits and 10p play with £100 jackpot. SPLS9F will be good to look at the different rom versions in parallel.1 point

Cheers grah ,bob has already dumped them onto the mecca 👍1 point

I can take a look at my two paul and post it on here .as far as I know there are only two rom versions ,the original 50p for 1 credit and 4x10p and the updated version which gives 50p for 5 credits .1 point

Regarding the Special Circle ROMs, do you happen to know what revision? Have SPLC4 ROMs here and wondered if they're an earlier program that, like Lucky Strike, may have a more unlimited gamble feature.1 point

That makes sense that they were a different version..1 point

Would be brilliant if you can unblock the gamble eddy as I'm certain this will improve the enjoyment of game play .if I know I can gamble from a cherry to £100 or something close to it then that surely in my book is part of the excitement. I have the later revised roms in my ss which allows for 5games when 50p is inserted .the early original roms had 50p=1 credit and 4x10p change which is a pain and probably will reduce the life span on the 10p solenoid and tongue. Bob has dumped both versions on the mecca . Don't forget that taking the gamble block off is one thing but the programming needs to know when to stop on a maxed out gamble ie gamble a £10 win x4 =£40 then max next stake is x2 for £80 .on getting £80 there isn't a gamble available to allow for the max £100 unless a save feature is programmed in .all this needs to be input .and for the added touch the jackpot tune needs to be added for say wins over £40-50 .its more involved than just removing the collecting block .1 point

With regards to lucky strike the early version roms had the higher gamble available they were made this way not modified..1 point

A bit new for here but always forget to release on here so it must change as this place was the birthplace of fme.. Next up, its Jackpot Jokers Sc4 Bell Fruit affair this was requested by someone a while back but at the time the roms i had wouldn't run for some reason it was @martinb also upped the scan for the flyer thanks to @fruitsnappa for uploading a fresh set (sc5 roms within the rom file within the file) can't remember where i got the flyer from, it may of been @stevedude2 Shortcuts written within the notes the layout is unlocked due to the flyer not the best as you'll see with the layout quality but at least its now emulated and another machine preserved in fme history Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!
