  1. Good evening all, Well finally got hold of a Barcrest Hi Lights, my first Mpu2 as well. I am delighted. Came to me as a non runner, and it's taken a little bit of work to get running, but with the help of the Mecca folk's, it all came together!

  5. That's the one, same number as mine. I have a Β£25 ROM, working in MFME but it won't boot in the machine. Apparently I need a different FPGA for Β£25 on Double Cash.

  6. I will Phil, there were many issues! First of all the reels took some time, thanks for the sensors they really helped, Andrew sent some new bits as well,, which helped also! And also the help of our resident board guru! Also found the reel board was faulty as well, had one from another machine to get this one working! After that it was still faulting, there were lots of loose connectors to the nudge and hold switches, I think I replaced about 30 in total, for some reason it was stopping it from booting. Once they were done, she sprung into life πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

  7. Hi People... heres the next stage-transplanting IC's from an original Epoch board. Sadly we have to do this. The x2 audio chips it's just for price... these are obsolete and really expensive. They're also nice and reliable so I'm not worried about using them. The main event is the Actel (asic) chip which has custom firmware programed onto it which there's no way to reproduce so there's no alternative but to transplant it. Who knows if the original firmware even exists? Here's a vid of removing the Asic... I'm using low melting point alloy... it looks messy but it stays molten for ages and mixes with old solder. The only goal is keeping the tiny pins straight and not bending any... went pretty well. This one is also a microscope job refitting it 20231115_141848.mp4
