I wanted to dump some 2708 eproms and also to be able to burn new EPROMs for my SRU machines. I found that my programmer is not able to read or write these roms, they need a special adapter or programmer all together as the rom needs +26V, +12V, +5V and -5V to be read or written to. With a quick google I found a project created by a guy called Matt Millman where he designed a plug in board to be added to an Arduino mega 2560 controller. He has written open source custom code for the Arduino and also a windows programmer interface that is compatible with 2704 / 2708 and TMS2716 EPROMs. The programmer uses a custom board that he has shared the gerber files for along with the component material lists and open source code. The link to his site is here: https://www.mattmillman.com/projects/hveprom-project/an-easy-to-build-programmer-for-2704-2708-mcm68764-mcm68766-eproms/ The programmer project will be less than £100 for the parts which would be good value for a programmer solution for the 2708’s. As a start I ordered some pcbs from pcbway in china, I uploaded the gerber files and the boards arrived inside a week. The shipping was more than the boards. I had 5 boards made, I have 4 spare so if anyone wants to make the programmer I’m happy to share the remaining boards for £5 each including postage. PM me if you want one. The components arrived quickly from Mouser Electronics and the Arduino came from Amazon. Will assemble the board and see how the project goes! But looks like it’s a useful solution to program these early EPROMs.7 points

I'm taking no sides here but if Wearecity says he didn't use any part of Chloe's classic then I totally believe him. He's been around from day DOT and at one time used to playtest all my layouts, so in my view can be fully trusted. As for Freedom, I mentioned in PM (if you remember zippy) that running a forum isn't an easy job and went on to explain why. Anyway, in my view you should open the Forum to everyone REGARDLESS and forget all this 'invite only' policy which only promotes antagonism for those who don't have the chance to join. OK so you may have access to exclusive roms from Mr P (or wherever), so what? Over the years I've provided thousands of roms to the scene which I've managed to scavenge by various means and not once have I held them back to try and score points over any other forum. A lot of the Astra, Bellfruit, QPS, Mazooma, Empire & Union Games roms you have came via me. I've even gone out of my way to have them dumped from my own machine. In these days of FME we should be sharing EVERYTHING and be one big happy family. Wizard, for many many years wouldn't come near my forum as he thought I was a complete TWAT, but thankfully in the end we became very good friends and I'll always remember that with pride. Life's too short for all this bullshit!!6 points

A bit like the second coming of Christ?? for fucks sake it’s a layout ok the reels may of been used may not who gives a shit! infact if @wearecity requires I’ll remake them just to keep you and your minions happy!!! so shall I withdraw the sound roms from trick or treat as YOU own them personally if someone releases a layout online then there’s nowt stopping someone stripping the layout of parts you can’t stop that unless you don’t release to the masses I’ve had this kind of attitude from various members so I know what I know Shall I delete layouts as I “forgot” to thank everyone from the homeless man outside quicksilvers to God!! We best get bellfruits permission every time we make a dond layout lol. give it a rest you’re not doing yourself any favours. your site dictates who and when a layout can be made, you have to thank god if you download a layout don’t deny that as it’s written in your rules section @Clo06 makes great classics and in time I’m sure she’ll understand and forgive (although dont see why as wearecity wrote “thanks to the rom/reel provider in the release notes) unfortunately clo06 with your comment, which you’re perfectly entitled to has opened the rift of fme which has been sealed for many a year3 points

That is cool! I myself have the 2708 module for my dataman programmer and it does the same just generates the -5v and the plus high voltage as it is 2 boards sandwiched together, was similar cost to yours at £100 all made3 points

Thanks Dad, for a decent overall post and at least publicly saying, what I have said several times now, I did not download or play the other Circle Line layout. I made it from scratch, using the roms and the reels sent to me. Every single lamp/button/checkbox in that layout was created by me, without it. As said 50+ hours, creating something which I could have spent 2 or 3 hours producing, but wanted it to represent the look of the real machine, with just classic tools. The general consensus appears to be I was successful in doing so. I could have been an arse and asked for and downloaded the layout and just redesign everything, but I wouldn't do that. Again very disappointed in the other layout producer, for even thinking I would do that, after all these years. Furthermore, why would I even go to the trouble of producing my own layout, I could have just asked for the other one and just been happy playing the machine again. I don't know if it was done on the other layout, but publishing the layout, will lock the notes and caption and would prevent any of the above accusations. I would suggest any layout released with the rule, that it can't be hosted elsewhere, should be published. Does anyone seriously think, that even not being a member of Freedom, would prevent members from elsewhere from gaining access to every layout released over there they wanted and then just posting them up for general download. Again I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing, I'm not that sort of person. Again I would suggest publishing such layouts, so at least the notes and caption will say who has produced them.2 points

It's a shame, you have to yet again, resort to abuse of a member. I've nothing to hide, if I did, then do you think I would release it under my well known username. I don't hide behind several aliases and never have done. I don't either ask anyone to back me up or agree with me. I don't have trolls and shrills littered around FME. I don't sit in arcades, slagging off members of FME, who have done so much for the scene. I am, my own person. Fear not Freedom, it will be YOU as usual who will do something I and the rest will truly dislike, not me, YOU. Just to clarify, yet again, as I've already said, as you no doubt know, I've said. I have not downloaded, or played Clo layout. My base layout, was, open emulator, design, edit mode, load roms. Then followed 50+ hours of designing, what you call a shambles of a layout. I do not thank sites for roms and reels, I thank individuals for roms and reels. If I did I'd be thanking various rom sites on all releases. If I don't specifically know, then I will say rom and reel provider, as I have on most of my layouts. I asked for the roms, that's what I was provided with. The reels, without request, were sent to me, individual reels, not the bands. From that I produced the layout from the picture by infection and the videos that Chris has posted on youtube. It's as simple as that. I was not egged on by anyone, I did it off my own back, as it was a machine I have wanted to see emulated for years and so I produced a "shambles" of a layout for it.2 points

Been a while, since I uploaded here, but as one of the people who assisted is here, thought I would. So here's Circle Line. I believe this is quite a rare Ace machine on spACE tech. I only ever saw/played it in one arcade in the Edgware Road, London. 20p play £6 Jackpot 78% payout (to switch to 88%, press dip switch 8 to the on position, on dip switch 1 bank on the configuration screen). KEYS: 0 = INSERT £1, ' = Cancel/Collect 1 = Hold 1/Exchange, 2= Hold/hi, 3 = Hold/lo, Space = Start THANKS TO: Wizard (RIP) - Remember NONE of us, would be playing any of this, without this genius. The Rom provider. The Reel provider. Infection for the image used. Chris217 from The Mecca, for videos on youtube, helped clear up some stuff (search Circle Line fruit machine on youtube) ACE and whoever owns them now, for leaving FME alone, all these years. GENERAL NOTES ABOUT LAYOUT This is one machine I have been wanting to see for ages emulated and have mentioned it a few times. To avoid any confusion and to be clear, this layout is all my own work, with the exception of course for the roms/reels. I've put as much detail as possible in the layout, but some section aren't quite right. The layout is in cash jackpot mode, token input is enabled and I'm sure it can be made into token payout mode, if people ask on the forums. I did have a go but nothing I tried worked and it makes no difference to the gameplay. To the far right, out of sight, are some additional lamps not used and some checkboxes, if needed. I agree with dad on this matter we shouldn't be arguing over machines etc and layouts we all thank each other and wearecity did say thanks to rom provider which is what most people on scene say thank you etc There's some who just download and not say anything or appreciate the work going into all layouts but as I mentioned on dif multiple layouts of same machine is fine as some people may like A colourful version and some may like a metallic type one everyone has a different preference like an example road hog There 2 layout I'll use as a example ploggy a Hi res dx back in 2010 ish early days and then there's a modern more coloured Version by ze frog1 point

I'm ashamed of you, you've disrespected Chloe and the scene, there is proof that you have used Chloes layout to your own grubby ends and we know why, we wouldn't mind if you had asked permission, people like you and those irreprobates you follow on DIF have done this deliberately because baby don't get what they want. Fear not Wearshitty we will do something that you and the rest will truly dislike, so you carry on with your shambles of a layout and crack on pal, this shows others what you have done (high likely egged on by others), oh are you upset that more and more are walking from DIF lol, you'll lose a few more donators because of this, Chloe is a highly respected person especially around those you don't even know. Rom provider was Freedom Fruits Reels were Freedom Fruits Base used Freedom Fruits (Chloe aka Clo06) Bang to rights!!0 points
